Commandant's Corner
Dear Fellow Marines,
Having just gotten through Thanksgiving we are now well into the Holiday Season. I knowall of you are very busy preparing for this terrific time of the year.
We at Slattery have enjoyed a good year of doing good. We have reached out to old andnew donors to build our 501.c.3 Marines Care Foundation and stood out in the heat of Julyand the cold of November collecting for another successful year of Marine Rose FundOutings. Now we are assisting the Marine Reserves at Picatinny with their Toys For Tots Program to makesure that every child in America receives a Toy or Two for Christmas and does not go forgotten.
The money we have raised has gone to assist the wounded directly in many ways as well as their familiesand have done the same for First Responders, including right here in our own community.
As we get ready to celebrate another Holiday with our families we can be proud of the good we have donein 2016 and prepare to make 2017 an even better year for doing good for our fellow man.
I look forward to seeing all of our Brother and Sister Marines at our Holiday Social on Wednesday night,January 11, 2017 at American Legion Hall in Whippany. Don't miss it!
Greetings of The Season, Peace on Earth, Semper Fidelis!
Bill Freeman
