Protocol for Symptomatic or Positive COVID-19 Student or Staff

Student or Staff Member is Symptomatic

Fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, temperature over 100.

Isolate and send home immediately. Inform student or staff they must seek medical attention and must have a provider note and negative COVID-19 test before returning

Student or staff has a medical note and documentation of a negative COVID-19 test and no further symptoms

Student or staff can return

Student or Staff tests positive for COVID-19

DOH contacts student, parent, or staff to investigate and perform contact tracing. Contact tracing begins 48 hours prior to the start of symptoms or a positive test for asymptomatic people. All persons within 6ft for more than 10 minutes during that time frame will be quarantined for 14 days, monitored and tested. DOH will notify school for collaboration with contact tracing

Positive student or staff will remain isolated for 10 days from the start of symptoms. They must be fever free or 24 hrs. without the use of medication and have progressive improvement in symptoms before returning.

Contacts to positive case can return after 14-day quarantine.

Social Emotional Learning(SEL) ● Updated our District’s K-12 Comprehensive Counseling Plan and SEL

resources for families● Our district will closely monitor students and families who need

additional support using various tools such as surveys, outreach information, and will provide referrals to community resources as appropriate

● District counselors, social workers, and administrators will collaboratively work with teachers to ensure that all students are connected to an adult

● Staff will be provided additional professional development opportunities focused on virtual learning

● Students will participate in weekly discussions and lessons about self awareness, relationship building, stress management and personal wellness

Transportation● Students will be required to wear face

coverings on the bus at all times● Students will have assigned seats both to

and from school (siblings must sit together)● Busses will be sanitized after each run● Two transportation scenarios are being

considered based on survey results: ○ Two bus runs: one for K-4 students the

other for 5-12 students○ Single bus run for all students planning

on using district transportation● Students should keep themselves 6 ft apart

at the bus stop

Curriculum and Instruction

● Consistent virtual learning plans K-5 and 6-12 for hybrid and remote learners. We would also use these plans if we had to go back into full closure

● Working with the mental health sub committee to develop continuity of a social emotional learning curriculum for both in person and remote learners

● District obtained 75 live streaming cameras for instruction● Developing professional learning for staff to utilize new technology with

students● Develop consistent instruction and grading for in person and remote

learners

Technology Integration

● All students K-12 will be issued a chromebook for their exclusive use during the year if necessary.

● 97.2% of our families have internet access in their home.

● The District will assist families to obtain access when possible.

● Buildings will be issuing technology to students September 9th/10th.

● All classes will use Google Classroom as the digital platform for virtual instruction

● Students will be instructed on the use of technology and digital expectations on September 11th the first virtual day of school.

General School Information ● The district is considering start and

end times similar to previous years● The district’s code of conduct will

be enforced for in-person and virtual instruction.

their full ABCD schedule in a hybrid model

● Schedule is divided into AB and CD days. Students will be in-person for two consecutive days (AB) on Monday and Tuesday and virtual on Thursday and Friday (CD days). Wednesdays will alternate each week between AB and CD days

● Students will stay in their homeroom pods for the majority of the day. Students will be allowed to transition to certain elective courses

● Virtual instruction will be live, students will log into Google Classroom at the same time as their scheduled class

● Students will carry all their class materials during the day (no lockers)
