SLO Grant @ Dillon Public Library

• Step 1: Solicited input from the Hispanic Community– Posted flyers around town– Talked with people at the library

• Step 2: Evaluated input & developed an action plan– We were awarded a $400 SLO Grant, but ended up spending over

$1,200 to effectively respond to the needs of Dillon’s Hispanic Community.

– Mothers with children in the summer reading program asked for additional bilingual storybooks. Ten new titles were purchased.

– Paid $25.00 to translate Computer Permission Form.– Purchased a copy of Rosetta Stone’s “English as a Second

Language.”
