Mission Statement St. Joseph Parish, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, is a community of God’s people. We, as a faith-filled com-munity, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, worship the Father by imitating the Son. We reach out to all people by evangelizing through the spiritual and corporal works of mercy for the dignity of all human life. By our daily proclamation of the Gospel and celebration of the sacraments, addressing our spiritual, social and educational needs, we shine with the love of Christ.

Welcome! We extend our hearts and hands to all who celebrate with us at St. Joseph’s. We would like to invite any guest to fill out the form below if interested in becoming a registered member of this Parish.
Thank you for worshiping with us!
Yes, it is all in the call and we are the called...called to be disciples...and all that it means... That is how I ended last week's letter...and how this one begins. We have heard how Jesus moved to Capernaum and how He called Simon Peter and his brother Andrew, then the brothers James and John, to follow Him. They did so immediately and left everything else behind. So, we are called to fol-low Him, making His journey our journey. We "leave eve-rything behind" when we make His kingdom here and hereafter our first priority. Then all other things will fol-low that choice. Our Isaiah reading reminded us that "the people who walked in darkness have seen a great light." Yes, we have. Our Christmas celebration told us of that Light coming among us. Then St Paul in his first letter to the church at Corinth gives our following that Light addi-tional meaning and insight. We are called to be one in Him. He is our unity, the source and summit of all. Paul encourages us, "that all of you agree in what you say, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and in the same purpose." Paul has heard "that there are rivalries among you", and he will have none of it. Sometimes it is like that among us too. Whether in fami-lies or parishioners, it sometimes seems that we pick or choose our particular thing as the best or first in impor-tance. This is most important or my way of seeing the parish or what it needs is most important...we should not think like this, my friends. Things like "this is my ministry, this is my program, this is my part of the parish" begin to creep into our hearts and minds. I think we are territo-rial, sometimes even extreme in it. St Paul would be jumping all over us in that case. He would say over and over again, for disciples it is all about unity...not mine but ours, not about I but we, not about stay out, this is my territory, but rather come in and share my space. Dis-ciples are called...so are we...to be united in following Him...and all that it means...
