2012 DARCO opened the Indian subsidiary in Dharwad, Karnataka; launching quality foot and ankle products to the Indian market. From the early beginning our goal was to explain the features and benefits of different DARCO products and provide valuable information to the foot specialists in the field.

DARCO value added products Various special insoles – many possible uses. DARCO’s insole systems are the “Value Added Products” in many ways when it comes to postoperative and woundcare treatment. Many of our shoes have been designed to have interchange-able insoles, which facilitates patient-specific and indication-specific pressure redistribution. Here we strive for constant development and progress with the aim of boosting successful treatment by the medical practitioner.

One area of focus for DARCO is the development of modular insole strategies. This allows selective plantar pressure relief and is especially important after forefoot and midfoot surgical procedures.

26 years after the foundation of DARCO International Inc. and 20 years after the opening of the European subsidiary in Germany, DARCO opened a new and promising gateway to the treatment of the foot and ankle in regards to post operative, trauma and diabetic care in India:

DARCO is able to offer local assistance combined with the advantage of international exchange between its headquarters in the US, Europe and China in order to guarantee consistent quality standards worldwide.

The main focus of the Indian subsidiary is the exchange of medical knowledge in regards to the treatment of the foot and ankle, especially in the field of diabetes. Only with the help of continuous exchange of medical expertise in different treatments will it be possible to develop and market appropriate footwear products for India. Experiences from more than 30 years – time in which the European subsidiary was successfully set up – will now be utilised in the setting up of the Indian department. The growing incidence of diabetic complications in India must be countered. Based on wide knowledge and excellent products DARCO wants to contribute to this challenge, especially in regard of the treatment of the diabetic foot syndrome.
