A Message from Fr. Lowry

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Bishop Strickland has directed that all public celebrations of the Mass be suspended beginning today, March 18. What this will look like for our parish: • NO MASS WILL BE CELEBRATED PUBLICLY UNTIL BISHOP STRICKLAND DI-RECTS OTHERWISE. Meaning no public daily Masses and no public Sunday Masses. I will offer Mass each day in private according to my own schedule. ALL MASS INTENTIONS WILL BE HONORED. • ON SUNDAYS, while there will be no public Masses….all the faithful are reminded that they still have the responsibility of observing the Lord's Day, especially by pray-ing. I will offer Sunday Mass in private but streaming on our parish Facebook page at 10:30am in English and 12:30pm in Spanish. - PUBLIC FUNERAL MASSES: Will be permitted in small numbers while observing the strictest of hygiene. - WEDDING MASSES/SERVICES: Will be permitted in small numbers while observ-ing the strictest of hygiene. - BAPTISMS: Will take place outside of Mass in small numbers while observing the strictest of hygiene. -MINISTRY TO THE SICK: All routine visits to the sick are suspended. This is to pro-tect the housebound/sick person and the lay minister. Most of those whom we visit are already high risk. ALL SACRAMENTAL EMERGENCIES WILL BE COVERED. I WILL ASSUME IMMEDIATE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL MINISTRY TO THE SICK. • CONFESSIONS WILL BE HEARD AT NORMAL TIMES @ NORMAL LOCATIONS: The only difference will be the room and distance between the priest and penitent. At historic campus (800 E. Tyler Street), I will hear confessions in the sacristy with some distance from the penitent. At South campus (SEEM @ 1310 S. Palestine St.), I will be hearing confessions in the nursery with some distance from the peni-tent. Schedule below: - Wednesday 5:00-6pm @ SEEM - Thursday 5:00-6pm @ SEEM - Friday 8:30-9:30am @ Historic Campus - Saturday 4:00-5pm @ Historic Campus

You can visit the Most Blessed Sacrament both at historic and South campuses during normal hours. • THE PARISH OFFICE WILL BE WORKING ON MORE LIMITED HOURS. More info will be forthcoming. • I will remain visible, available and present. ALL EMERGENCIES WILL BE RE-SPONDED TO. I will continue to offer ministry to all and to accompany you through these difficult times. I commit myself to be creative in ensuring that social distancing does not mean social isolation for our people. THE MISSION AND MINISTRY OF THE CHURCH WILL AND MUST CONTINUE. TAKE CARE OF YOUR NEIGHBOR. I will be reaching out to our parish organizations so that we can be pro-active in making sure that homebound parishioners receive both spiritual and physical support. Please stay calm, stay healthy, and stay constant in prayer. Please be patient with our staff, with me and with each other. These are truly unprecedented times.

Un mensaje del Fr. Lowry Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo: El obispo Strickland ha ordenado que todas las celebraciones públicas de la misa se suspendan a partir de hoy, 18 de marzo. Cómo se verá esto para nuestra parroquia: • NO SE CELEBRARÁ MÁS MISAS HASTA QUE EL OBISPO STRICKLAND DIGA DE OTRA MANERA. Lo que significa que no hay Misas diarias públicas ni Misas dominicales públicas. Ofreceré misa todos los días en privado de acuerdo con mi propio horario. TODAS LAS INTENCIONES SERÁN OFRECIDAS. • LOS DOMINGOS, aunque no habrá Misas públicas…. Se les recuerda a todos los fieles que todavía tienen la responsabilidad de observar el Día del Señor, especial-mente rezando.
