A Note from the Administrator...

Dear friends,

We have two more feasts, before we finally settle back into ordinary time. Today is Trinity Sunday, when we celebrate God’s loving vivacious playful courageous merciful personality. And next week is Corpus Christi, the feast of the “Body of Christ.” Yes, we Catholics do believe in feast days --- with special food, decorations, gifts, rituals. Properly celebrating God’s graces is an important part of our spiritual lives … and a good anecdote to boredom or “entitlement.” We don’t let Christmas or Easter or birthdays or anniversaries go without celebrating the goodness of life, and the extreme goodness of God, the Giver of life.

One day part of our celebrations will be the return of St. Margaret Mary’s Carillon --- the bell sounds coming from the tower. Our Church considers blessed bells a sacramental. Besides helping us cele-brate, bells announce to the community that there is a Catholic Church here worshipping God and doing God’s work.

On that “note” I’m happy to report a $7000 pledge from the Knights of Co-lumbus towards that dream: replacing the carillon bells. That means we’re just $4000 short of sweet sounds in the air.

If anyone out there feels led to help sponsor the re-maining cost, please call the office and talk to Marianne. Peace, All Good! Fr. Mike

P. Mike
