Grade Level Activity Fees –used for grade level projects and resources.
School Café- online access to student’s lunch account for balance information and snack restrictions.
Volunteer Application -All volunteers (including field trip chaperones) need to complete a district volunteer application.
ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL• Students may arrive to school as early as 7:30am
• Students will be dismissed to classrooms at 7:50 am
• The tardy bell rings at 8:00. Valuable instruction begins promptly.
Excessive tardies and/or absences will be dealt with through
administration.
• If your child is absent, please call the attendance line @ 281-641-1519
by 8:50 to report their absence. Attendance line is available 24/7.
• Students are dismissed at 3:20
• Car riders and walkers are dismissed at the front of the school
● Bus and daycare riders leave from the side of the school.
● YMCA students meet in the cafeteria.
● Please make sure you send a note or call the office when there is a
change in the way your child is getting home!
Take Home Folder
Students should bring their take home folder back
and forth from school every day
• Please check for papers in the folder and take
them out.
• Any notes or papers you need to send to school
can be sent in the folder.
• The conduct card is also in the take home folder.
Please review any “incidents” with your student
and discuss better choices.
HomeworkAll Kindergarten students will
receive a homework spiral
starting in a few weeks .
This spiral will be placed in their
take home folder on Mondays. It will have a
calendar of short assignments for the week.
Please help your child complete the homework
each night and return the spiral every Friday.
Students may bring a snack to eat and water
in a sports cap bottle to drink to class

• Crackers or Pretzels
• Beef jerky sticks
• Chips
• Cookies
• Candy
• Cakes or Cupcakes

BIRTHDAYS• We celebrate each child’s birthday as a class. If you
wish to bring something for your child’s classmates,
feel free to bring small items such as pencils,
erasers, or small toys. Due to food allergies, food
items must be cleared through the school
nurse 2 days before the birthday.
• School policy states that no invitations will be
passed out at school.

• Lunch is at 11:15-11:45. Please sit at the Visitors Table.
• Please label your child’s personal items such as jackets, lunch kits, etc.
• If you can, teach your child how to tie his or her shoelaces and reinforce sneezing on their sleeve.
• Friday is Spirit Day!!! Have your child wear their school shirt!

�Identifies concepts about print (directionality, letters vs.
words, most common sight words, punctuation marks).
�Reads (97% accuracy) and understands a text level D
(Fountas and Pinnell text leveling system).
�Spells simple 3 letter words (hot, cat, cup, etc.)
�Writes sentences using capitalization and punctuation.
�Read, write, represent, and compare numbers to 20.
�Recite (orally) numbers to 100 by ones and tens.
�Identify coins.
�Identify 2D and 3D shapes.
�Model and solve addition and subtraction word problems.

Starting this year, there will be an online district testing portal to
request Gifted and Talented testing. Referrals should be
completed in the online portal on the Advanced Academics
website. This portal will only be open during the assessment
window(s) and will include parental permission to test, evaluate, and
receive gifted program services. The dates for testing dates are
below:
•Kindergarten: August 26 - December 20
•Grades 1-12: August 26 - September 27
