Topics for First Semester Safety, Scientific Method and

Measurement—10 days Matter and the Atom—15 days Electrons in Atoms, the Periodic Table

and the Periodic Law—15 days Chemical Bonding, Writing Formulas and

Naming Compounds—18 days Chemical Reactions and the Mole—25

days  Review and Final Exam—5 days

Their semester grade will be made up of the following components:

Tests/Assessments/Quizzes 50% Labs 25% Homework/Class work 10% Final Exam 15% Total 100%

Homework

Posted in the same place daily. Expect homework nightly (15-20 Minutes). Look over class notes every evening.

Grades

Grades will be updated weekly in Home Access.

Interim Reports—every 6 weeks.

Extra Help: is available Monday thru Friday 7:50—8:15. Afternoons by appointment!

Late Work All work is due at the beginning of class on

the date it is due. Excused absences will be allowed to turn in work as per school policy. Credit for late homework and class work are as follows: 50% off for one day late, a zero after that. Late labs and projects will lose 20% per day late.
