My dear Parishioners,

This past April 30th, The Gulf Coast Conference of the

Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary held its annual

meeting in Mobile, Alabama. I am delighted to say that,

during that meeting, our KPC Ladies Auxiliary, St. Paul of

the Cross Court #301, was named the “Court of the Year”

for its outstanding Service to the Organization. It was an

honor well deserved, and I know that you join me in con-

gratulating the members of Court #301!

I and many of you know personally that the members of

Court #301 work tirelessly not only for our parish but for the

church. Their presence and participation in the ministries

and activities of St. Paul of the Cross has been and continues

to be a marvelous blessing to this parish. Their witness to

the younger generation and their nurturing of the Junior

Knights and Daughters contributes greatly to the ongoing

evangelization of the parish.

go beyond the parish, touching the lives of the forgotten and

the poor, keeping the spirit of Peter Claver alive and well in

our time. Thank you, Ladies of Court #301, may the good

Lord continue to bless and prosper your life and ministry!

— Fr. Jerome, C.P.

should be carried out in a deliberate and reverential manner.

Why, because it signifies who we are as Christians; it is meant

to remind us of our baptism when we became one with Christ

and committed ourselves to walk as his disciples throughout

the course of our lives. It is particularly significant when we

come to celebrate the Eucharist, that beautiful and powerful

act of prayer during which we pray together as God’s family

and unite our prayers to the prayer of Jesus, who is “the Way,

the Truth, and the Life” of our lives as individuals and as

disposes us to enter into the presence of the God whom we

have come to worship.

Human Trafficking

June: Words from Pope Francis: “It is

not possible to remain indifferent before

knowledge that human beings are bought

and sold like goods. I think of the adoption of

children for the extraction of their organs,

prostitute themselves, of workers

exploited and denied their rights of a

voice. This is human trafficking.” For more information,
