Offertory Anthem.........................................................Peter J. WilhouskyBattle Hymn of the Republic

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; he is trampling out thevintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful lightning ofHis terrible swift sword: His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps; They have buildedHim an altar in the evening dews and damps; I can read His righteous sentence inthe dim and flaring lamps, His truth is marching on!

In the beauty of the lilies, Christ was born across the sea, With a glory in His bosomthat transfigures you and me: As he died to make men holy, Let us live to make menfree, While God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on! Amen.

* The Congregation will please stand and sing at verse 4.

My country, ‘tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty, Of thee I sing;Land where my fathers died, Land of the pilgrims’ pride,From every mountain side Let freedom ring.

My native country thee, Land of the noble free, Thy name I love;I love thy rocks and rills, Thy woods and templed hills; My heart with rapture thrills Like that above.

Let music swell the breeze, And ring from all the trees,Sweet freedom’s song; Let mortal tongues awake;Let all that breathe partake;Let rocks their silence break, The sound prolong.

Our fathers’ God, to Thee, Author of liberty, To Thee we sing;Long may our land be bright With freedom’s holy light;Protect us by Thy might, Great God, our King. Amen

Anthem ....................................................................................... Gustov HolstAdapted from The Planets

I Vow to Thee My Country....................................arr. Richard Mays

I vow to thee my country all earthly things above, entire, and whole and perfect, theservice of my love. The love that asks no questions, the love that stands the test, thatlays upon the altar the dearest and the best. The love that never falters, the love thatpays the price. The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.

And there’s another country I’ve heard of long ago, most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know; We may not count her armies, we may not see HerKing, Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering. And soul by soul andsilently her shining bounds increase, and her ways are ways of gentleness, and allher paths are peace. Amen.
