Team Hyperdrive visited the Innovation Centre in
Rainham for this year’s London and South East
regional F1 in school final. This year the challenge was even greater
than last year as we could no longer enter at the Rookie level, we were
now entering the development class and competing against even
more teams. We set off for the big race day with big hopes (and paint
still drying on the car!). Hyperdrive had put a great deal of time and
energy in the year leading up to this point and our sights were firmly
set on top spot to make it to the national finals at Silverstone. The
team performed extremely well in the presentation and blew away the
judges with their technical knowledge and research in designing the
car. Aaliaan Khan was complimented on his understanding of Bernoulli
and Navier - Stokes equations when interviewed by the panel of
engineers. This helped the team pick up the award for best research
and development across all competitors on the day. Our hopes were
dampened somewhat by the front wheels jamming slightly which
added fractions of a second onto our race time which at this level
makes all the difference. Alas, we picked up 2nd place overall, we are
confident moving forwards that it will be third time lucky for
Hyperdrive and so the team plan to take to the races one last time to
try and unlock the true potential of our latest design which we believe
when fully realised could take us all the way to the Global finals. We
are now looking for sponsors to help us acquire a 20 meter test track,
if you are interested in a sponsorship deal to help us with this please
contact Mr Fortt: [email protected].
RESULTS:
Hockey:

further support and guidance.
