Help create the Newcomer Bucket Lists

Remember when you first got to Camp Humphreys? If you’re typical, you spent the first couple of months just finding your way around, afraid to try something different like riding a Korean subway or visiting someplace in Seoul unless it was part of an organized tour.

Now you are getting ready to go somewhere else and regretting the things you never tried. Family & MWR Marketing wants to change all that, but needs your help to make it happen.

Our concept is to create three Bucket Lists – 100 Things to Do at Camp Humphreys, 100 Things to Do in Korea and 10 Things to Do in Asia. The Bucket Lists will be printed in a brochure and handed out at Newcomer’s Briefings starting during the upcoming Lunar New Year (don’t worry – you’ll be able to get a copy, too!)

Marketing can create the three lists on its own. But we don’t want to do that. We want the lists to reflect those things you discovered during your time in Korea.

Send your suggestions to [email protected] as soon as possible.

After we gather all the suggestions, we will have a panel of people go through the lists and pick the Top 100 for all three. So put on your thinking cap and send us your ideas ASAP.

Good Places to eat in local area

Do you know of a good place to eat in Anjung-ri or Pyeongtaek? If so, we want to know for the new Restaurant page we will be starting in the January Happenings magazine.

We are looking for places that offer good food, good prices and something different in the way of a dining experience. We know there are Thai, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Vietnamese and Brazilian cuisines out there, along with a lot of great Korean and US restaurants. Let us know your favorites.

Send the name of the restaurant, the cuisine and the phone number to [email protected] and [email protected]

Family trip to Lotte World December 19 Child, Youth & School Services (CYSS) is planning a Family trip to the Lotte World Amusement Park in Seoul Monday, Dec 19.

CYSS will provide the transportation, but Families are responsible for entrance fees, meals and souvenirs. They must also provide their own car seats for the bus. There are 105 seats available. Families must have an up-to-date registration to CYSS. Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Make reservations by contacting Sarah Morris, CDC Admin at 753-8601
