Everyarticlesubmittedtothejournalissubjectedtostrictplagiarismcheckthroughourdoublecheckprocessinvolvingsoftwareandmanualchecking.Oncearticlepassesthroughthisstep,articlesaresubjectedtoeditorialreviewforscope,relevanceandotherstandardrequirements.

Peerreviewisthemajorqualitymaintenancemeasureforanyacademicjournal.Inthisprocess,expertsintherelevantfieldsanalyzethescholarlyworkfromeveryperspective,includingitswriting,theaccuracyofitstechnicalcontent,itsdocumentation,anditsimpactonandsignificancetothediscipline.

Reviewersplayapivotalroleinscholarlypublishing,andtheirvaluableopinionscertifythequalityofthearticleunderconsideration.Peerreviewhelpstoratifyresearch,establishingastandardforevaluationwithinresearchcommunities.

OMICSjournalsemploythepeerreviewprocessinordertomaintainacademicstandardsandinsurethevalidityofindividualworkssubmittedforpublication.Inaddition,OMICSfollowsasingle-blindedpeerreviewprocess,toensureimpartialeditorialdecision-making.

Althoughitishardlyknownforitsresearch,collegeadministratorsurgethefacultytopublish.Recentlyagroupofconcernedprofessorscomplainedthatnearlyadozencolleagueshaverepeatedlypublishedinatleastoneofthedubiousjournals— andhavebeenpromotedandrewardedforit.

Notingthatanumberofthesepapersapparentlydependedonfederalandcityfunds,theprofessorsbroughtthemattertotheattentionofthevicechancellorforresearchandevenwrotetotheNewYorkStateinspectorgeneral’soffice.

Theproblemislikelybesthandledatthedepartmentlevel,whereitcanbemostreadilydetected.

TheCUNYOfficesofLibraryServicesandResearch willhelpprovidebestpracticesanddiscussionpromptsfordepartmentmeetings,writingbootcamps andCampusandUniversityFacultysenateforaCUNY-wideinformationcampaign.

Wewillalso”rootout”anywrongfulaffiliationsofpredatoryenterpriseswithCUNYanditsproffesoriate.

Existing“weeds”shouldbetreatedassuchandsuggestionsforhowtheyshouldbeaddressedonaCVshouldbeshared.
