Rules and Regulations: Class List:

1.All judge’s decisions are final. No exhibitor or person shall approach a judge on any matter without show manager permission. Anyone disregarding this rule may be asked to cancel all entries and forfeit all entry fees.

2. Management reserves the right to cancel, combine or divide classes if in its opinion the lack of entries war- rant.

3. Post entries are NOT allowed. There will be no penalty for scratching a class the day of the show.

4. There will be a $50.00 fee for all returned checks.

5. A trophy and 6 ribbons will be presented in all classes unless otherwise stated.

6. All exhibitors are prohibited from riding anywhere on show grounds without wearing protective headgear that has passed the current ASTM/SEI standards. Harnesses must be secured and if said headgear has a brim, it must be flexible or semi-flexible. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until said headgear is properly in place.

7. All dogs must be on a leash.

8. Membership forms and class specifications are available at the secretary’s office.

9. Under Rhode Island law, an equine professional, unless he can be shown to have failed to be in the exercise of due care, is not liable for any injury to, or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to Chapter 21, of Title 4 of the General laws.

10. Courses will consist of post, rail, walls, gates, brush and flowers.

11. All mounted riders cannot ride anywhere on the show grounds without wearing protective headgear. That is has passed the current ASTN/SEI standards. Harnesses must be secured and if said headgear has a brim, it must be flexible or semi-flexible. Any rider violating this rule at any time will be prohibited from further riding until headgear is properly in place.

12. All riders must present their current RIHA membership cards or a copy thereof to the show secretary prior to competing in the RIHA medal classes.

13. No exhibitor numbers will be handed out without a signed waiver, and signedcheck or payment of entries.

14.Championship and Reserve Championship ribbons will be handed out in all divisions.

15. Schooling and lunging will be permitted in authorized areas only. Anyone found violating this rule will forfeit their entry fees and not be allowed to show!

FROM SOUTH- Take 24 North take the RI-138 N exit. Turn right onto RI-77 S/Main Rd (sings for Central Ave). Continue 4.9 miles to 3622 Main Road, which will be on your left. .

FROM NORTH- Take 24 South into Rhode Island. Take the Fish Road Exit. Turn left onto Fish Road. Continue to RI-177 and turn right onto RI-177. Follow for a mile and turn left onto RI-77. Follow for 2.6 miles. 3622 Main Road will be on your left.

Class Descriptions:

Lead Line- Walk Trot- Pleasure- Green

1. Lead Line Equitation -RIHA “C” Entry Fee:$20 Open to riders 6 years of age and under. To be shown at the walk and individually at the trot or jog. To be judged with emphasis on equitation; also suitability and manners of mount to be consid- ered. Leader shall be on foot and at least 14 years of age. Riders man not compete in any other classes except: Lead line Eq Championship or Lead Line Suitability.

2. Lead Line Equitation Championship- Unrated Entry Fee;$25 Same specifications as class #1 except riders must compete in class #1 to be eligible for class #2.

3. Lead Line Suitability-RIHA “C” Entry Fee:$20 Open to riders 6 years of age and under. To be shown at the walk and individually at the trot or jog. To be judged with emphasis on suitability and manners of mount. Leader shall be on foot and at least 14 years of age. Riders may not compete in any other class except Lead line.

Walk Trot Equitation- RIHA “C” Open to riders 10 years of age or younger. Shall be shown at the walk, trot or jog only. No child entered may compete in any class requiring them to canter or lope. To compete in the Champion- ship class entries must have competed in class #4. 4. Walk/ Trot Equitation Entry Fee:$20 5. Walk/Trot Equitation Championship Entry Fee;$25

Walk Trot Pleasure-RIHA “C” Open to riders 10 years of age or younger. Shall be shown at the walk, trot or jog only. No child entered may compete in any class requiring them to canter or lope. To be judged on manners, suitability of horse/pony to rider and performance. To compete in the Championship class entries must have competed in class #4. 8. Walk/ Trot Pleasure Entry Fee:$20 9. 19. RIHA Pleasure Rated “C” Entry Fee:$30 Open to horses usually used for pleasure purposes that are owned by a members of the RI Horseman’s Association. To be shown at the walk, trot, and canter both ways of the ring, with light rein, but still main- taining contact with horse’s mouth. Must be asked to back. Shall be judged on manners, performance and quality in that order. $20, $15, $10, $5

Open Hunter Pleasure Horse or Pony RIHA “C” Open to all horses of hunter type ordinarily used for pleasure purposes with no limitations as to the status of the rider. To be shown at a walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. Light contact with the horse’s mouth is required. To be judged on manners, performance, quality, presence, substance and soundness To be eligible for the championship class you must have competed in class #121. 121. Open Hunter Pleasure Horse or Pony Entry Fee:$20 122. Open Hunter Pleasure Horse or Pony Entry Fee:$25

Hunter type Pet Pony RIHA “C” Open to riders under 14 years of age. To be shown at the walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. To be judged on manners, performance and suitability to rider. To be eligible for the championship class you must have competed in class #21. 21. Hunter Type Pet Pony Entry Fee:$20 22. Hunter Type Pet Pony Championship $20, $15, $10, $5 Entry Fee:$30

Equitation

Short Stirrup Equitation- RIHA “C” Entry Fee:$25/ Class, Medal $30 Open to riders 12 years of age or younger. Not to compete in any other equitation class at any show and has not competed in a jumping class exceeding 18” in height. To be shown over a minimum do 4 and a maximum of 8 fences not exceeding 18” in height. Fences may be taken at either a trot of canter at the option of the rider. To be judged at the walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring on the flat. May be asked to halt and back. No more than eight riders to canter at one time. 23. Short Stirrup Eq. Fences/MHJ Medal 24. 23. MHJ Short Stirrup Medal- Entry Fee:$30

Open to riders 12 years of age or younger. Not to compete in any other equitation class at any show and has not competed in a jumping class exceeding 18” in height. To be shown over a minimum do 4 and a maximum of 8 fences not exceeding 18” in height. Ten points are needed to qualify. Two riders must complete the course in order for points to count. Riders may continue to enter until August 1st of the current year.

Long Stirrup Equitation-RIHA “C” Entry Fee:$25/ Class Open to riders 13 years of age or older. Not to compete in any other equitation class at any show and has not competed in a jumping class exceeding 18” in height or has no shown in classes exceeding 18” in height or higher in the past 10 years. Modified Adult Equitation-RIHA “C” Entry Fee:$25/ Class Open to adult amateur riders who, as of December 1st of the current show year, has not won 6 blue ribbons at a recognized shoe in Adult equitation classes. Including Adult medal classes but excluding Modified adult classes. For amateurs who have won 6 blue ribbons, they eligible for Modified Adult, if as of December 1st of the current show year, they have not shown in classes with fenced 3’ or higher within the past 2 years. Fences not to exceed 2’ 6”. Riders in this division can not ride in any other rec- ognized classes at the same show where fences exceed 2’6” 44. Modified Adult Eq. Fences 45. Modified Adult Equitation on the flat

46. MHJ Adult Mini Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to all Adult Amateur riders that have not shown over a course where the fences exceed 3’ in the current year. To perform over a course of at least 8 fences not to exceed 2’6”. To fill a class a least 2 riders must complete the course. Once qualified riders may continue to shoe in the class until August 1st of the current show year.

47.& 48. RIHA Adult Mini Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to adult amateur riders of the RI Horseman’s Association who, as of December 1st of the current show year, has not won 6 blue ribbons at a recognized shoe in Adult equitation classes. Including Adult medal classes but excluding Modified adult classes. For amateurs who have won 6 blue ribbons, they eligible for Modified Adult, if as of December 1st of the current show year, they have not shown in classes with fenced 3’ or higher within the past 2 years. USEF tests 1-8 may be asked at the judges discretion. A minimum of 3 riders must complete the course. To qualify for the finals an exhibitor must win one class. Once qualified a rider may continue to show in this class.

51. MHJ Mini Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to junior riders who have no exceeded their 15th birthday as of December 1st of the current year (exception Maiden and Novice riders who have reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the current show year). To perform over at least 6 fences not to exceed 2’6”. AT least 2 riders must complete the course in order for points to count

52. &53. RIHA Mini Medal- Entry Fee $30 Open to Junior riders who have not reached their 15th birthday and riders 15-17 years of age who are not eligible for limit equitation over fences as do December 1st of the current show year and has not competed in classes which the entry may be required to jump higher than 3’. All riders to compete over a course not exceeding 8 fences and not less than 6 fences at a height not to exceed 2’6” with at least

Contestants are not allowed tocross enter into any medal classes with fences 3’ or higher or compete in a division or class with fences over 3’at any show during the year. Violation of this requirement qualifies the competitor from the finals. RIHAMini Medal Finals top 6 contestants are to be tested (USEF 1-8).

Children's Equitation-RIHA “C” Entry Fee $25 Open to exhibitors who are eligible for Children's Hunter and who has not shown over a course where fences exceed 3’ at a recognized show after December 1st of the current year. 54. 70. MHJ Adult Medal Entry Fee $30 Open to all amateur adult riders to perform over at least 8 fences 2’9”-3’ with at least two changes of direc- tion and a combination. At least 2 riders must complete the course for the points to count. Ten points re- quired to qualify for the finals Once qualified riders may continue to show in the class until August 1st of the current show year. At the finals, class will be divided 18-30 and over 30.

71. & 77. RIHA Adult Medal Entry Fee $30

Open to amateur Adult members of the RI Horseman’s Association. All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not to exceed 3’ with at least 1 change of direction. One or more indi- vidual tests of the top 4 contestants may be requested at the judge’s discretion. (USEF test 1-19). To fill a class at least 3 competitors must complete the course. For the finals, the judge shall require to work-off the top 4 competitors. One first or two seconds to qualify for the finals

73. MHJ Junior Medal Entry Fee $30 Open to riders who have not reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the current show year. All contestants to perform over at least 6 fences 3’3” At least 2 riders must complete the course for thepoints to count. Ten points required to qualify for the finals Once qualified riders may continue to show in the class until August 1st of the current show year.

74. & 75. RIHA Junior Medal Entry Fee $30

Open to Junior members of the RI Horseman’s Association who have not reached their 18th birth- day..
