The Bapsy HallA stunning room which marries

the best of Victorian Elegance

with a contemporary feel. This

grand ballroom boasts many of

its beautiful original features, a

large stage suitable for any performer, and state of

the art lighting system to create the perfect mood

for any event. Comfortably seating up to 300 guests

for a formal dinner, or 500 guests for celebration

evening party.

An introduction to our rooms Our varied and flexible spaces offer you the

opportunity to plan an individual ceremony and

bespoke reception for a truly memorable and personal

day. Imagine saying your vows in the gothic splendour

of the Kings Charles Hall, or having your reception in

the Walton Suite with its fantastic terrace overlooking

the rooftops of Winchester, or enjoying the splendour

of the Bapsy Hall for a formal wedding breakfast or as

a grand ballroom for your evening do.

Traditional splendour at its best, this unique hall

houses, as its name suggests, portraits of King Charles

1st and 2nd under the canopy of a hammer beam

ceiling and full height gothic windows. A fairytale hall

for your ceremony it is ideal for up to 120 guests to

celebrate in traditional style, or an evening party for

up to 150 guests. With its full size wooden floor the

King Charles Hall is perfect for dancing on in

particular a ceilidh or folk dances.

The Walton SuiteThe Guildhall’s best kept secret. The Walton suite is

one of the highest event spaces in the city and makes

full use of the roof top terrace with amazing views

over the roof tops of Winchester to St Giles Hill and

beyond. Glass atriums create fascinating vistas of the

famous Guildhall Clock Tower. The outside space is

superb for a barbeque, or relaxing on a summers

evening. It comfortably seats up to 80 guests for a

formal meal, and 100 guests for a ceremony.

If you’re looking for a unique, quirky, contemporary

event space then look no further. Formerly housing

the cells of the Winchester law courts, The Courtyard

with arched vaults, pillars and outside courtyard has

an intimate feel but with plenty of space. It seats up

to 100 guests for your “ceremony in the round”

allowing you to be truly centre stage as you say your

vows. This flexible space seats 140 guests for a formal

seated meal or 200 guests for an evening party, the

private courtyard is a great place to relax, enjoy a

barbeque or even a hog roast.

Portraits of the former Mayors of Winchester dating

back 150 years adorn the walls of this beautiful room.

Take your place in Winchester’s history and know you

are on time as you are directly beneath the clock

tower. The room seats 30 guests for a ceremony or 20

guests at one large table for a celebration meal.

The Wykeham and Eversley rooms are also licensed

for ceremonies and can seat up to 40 guests, or for

an intimate meal 30 guests seated on round tables.

to offer the widest choice and possibilities for the

food on your perfect day and to suit your budget,

many using the very best of fresh local Hampshire or

Dorset produce. A truly unique, flexible and bespoke

menu can be created by the innovative chefs we work

with, many of whom have received accolades for their

culinary specialities and expertise.

If you have a specific request, for example, Asian or

Jewish, we will be pleased to work with you, our

recommend you choose up to three companies to

meet and discuss your options with. Once you have

decided on a preferred company your event manager

will help to tailor a menu that is perfect for you and

your special day.

short walk of the Guildhall many of whom will be

pleased to offer you preferential rates. Your dedicated

event manager or members of the award winning

tourist information centre located in the Guildhall will

be more than happy to assist with your bookings or

advice on where to stay and with Winchester’s

amazing array of local attractions many of your

guests may wish to make your special day a special

weekend away.
