About usAaron Yates, OwnerAaron Yates is the chief photographer and videog-rapher, and owns KerrvillePhoto.com and Texas Pro Sound & Video, sister firms that produce photo and video throughout the state of Texas. Aaron was born and raised in Kerrville, graduated from Tivy High School, and obtained a BBA in Finance from Schreiner University. He enjoyed photo and video as a hobby since he was a child, and began shooting events, photo, and video in 2007. In 2011, Aaron founded the full-time endeavor, KerrvillePhoto.com, specializing in events, real estate, and commercial/marketing photo and video. Today he enjoys not only multimedia both professionally and as a hobby, but also backpacking, hiking, kayaking, and all types of outdoor activities.

The Wedding TeamSince 2007, our wedding photo and video teams have participated in almost 200 weddings throughout the state, in Kerrville, San Antonio, Austin, Waco, San Marcos, and countless venues in between. Our team consists of two full-time photographers, one full-time photo editor, two full-time videographers, one full-time video editor, and one part-time video editor. We also employ up to ten part-time employees on an ad-hoc basis, helping out with sound systems, extra cameras, and graphic design. Our team specializes in weddings and non-repeatable live events. You can’t re-do the wedding vows, or the first dance, or anything else at a live event! Trust our experienced team to capture your memories in a tasteful, non-intrusive manner.

Our Wedding PhilosophyWeddings are once-in-a-lifetime events, and you need someone that can capture the moments without direct-ing the moments. Our philosophy is that the wedding day is one of the most precious days in your life, and we want you to enjoy it stress-free. So we don’t force you to be a movie star -- your day is your day. We will capture the wedding without being obtrusive. We will tell the story of your day in photos or videos, and can show you the moments that you missed, the moments that touched your heart, and the moments you’ll never forget. Our services are not the cheapest, nor are we the most expensive. We accept only a limited number of weddings per year to stay sharp and focused, and to avoid burnout. The experience we’ve gained in the years we’ve provided wedding services has prepared us to provide you with what is sure to be a valuable addition to your family history for years to come.

Engagement PhotosEngagement and/or Save-the-Date photos are images that are taken in a variety of outfits, but not in wedding day attire. They are generally shot several months (up to a year) before the wedding date, and serve two main purposes: announcing your engagement on social media, and sending out a save-the-date card so that your potential guests don’t make plans for your wedding day. This photo session generally takes place in one or two locations that are special to the couple, or that are generally attractive locations for outdoor portraits.

Bridal PortraitsBridals are some of the most beautiful images that are captured as part of a wedding package. These photos are taken indoors or outdoors, and feature the bride in her beautiful wedding dress, complete with hair, makeup, and flowers. Generally no other persons are included in the photos, but sometimes horses, dogs, and other special pets can appear. The locations must be appropriate for a bride in her wedding dress, and are generally pretty outdoor locations or decorative indoor locations.

Wedding Day CoverageThe actual wedding day photography is provided by up to three photographers working hard all day to capture the important wedding day moments. Once you select a package and create a wedding day itinerary, we will col-laborate with you to determine the photography sched-ule, including start/stop times, what will be shot when, and how to shoot the photos that are most important to you. The scheduling of wedding day photos is one of the more complicated aspects of your wedding day itinerary, and your photographer should be consulted at every step of the process.

Photography Services Explained

Photography Services ExplainedToning & EditingOnce your photo session is complete, whether that’s engagements, bridals, or wedding day, our full-time photo editor will go to work on your images. The level of detail will vary depending on the type and importance of the shot -- for instance, bridals will receive more spe-cialized attention than general reception photos -- but each photo receives individual attention. This editing process is lengthy, and sometimes we’ll ask for your input along the way. Keep in mind, though, that you select a photographer for his/her style, and you should expect to receive photos similar in style and quality to samples provided.

Wedding AlbumA wedding photo album is an option that provides a coffee table style book, often bound in supple leather, that features the scenes of your wedding event. It can include everything from engagements to bridals to wedding day photos, and sometimes even honeymoon images that you capture yourself. Our graphic designer works on this album and then will present a draft to you for your comments. For packages that include binding and printing, a credit amount will be given to you, and you can then select the options that meet your desire and budget, such as thickness of paper, style of cover, and more.

Gallery & DeliveryWhen the editing process is finished, your images will be uploaded to a web gallery, which can be set to public or private. All of your images will be uploaded by category, such as pre-wedding, ceremony, and recep-tion, and also engagements and bridals, if those were included. This gallery can be used to browse and share your images with the world! You can also use the gallery to select images for printing. Most packages include a discount code that can be applied to your first print order, and the company that prints the images is world-renown for their impeccable quality

Engagement InterviewsThe engagement interview is a fun alternative to the traditional wedding slideshow. Instead of just running photos, we interview the bride and groom (separately and then together) and provide a video interview that introduces each person to the audience, provides insight into their backgrounds, tells the story of how they fell in love, and illustrates their hopes and dreams for the future. It’s also funny! We have lots of thought-provoking questions and the overall experience and finished video is sure to be a treasured part of your wedding celebration. The finished video is playable at the rehearsal dinner, and runs approximately 10 minutes in length.

Photo SlideshowAn animated photo slideshow is created from photos that you provide to us in digital format. (We can also provide scanning and digitization services, if required, at additional charge.) We call it “Diapers to Diamonds” because the photos traditionally span the couple’s entire lives from infancy to adulthood and finally to the engage-ment. This video is typically played at the rehearsal dinner or reception and runs anywhere from 10 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the number of photos provided.

Wedding Day CoverageThe actual wedding day videography consists of up to four videographers capturing the special moments and details of the wedding ceremony, the pre-wed-ding preparations, the reception fun, and everything in between. With multiple videographers working in cooperation throughout the day, not a single moment is missed. One female videographer typically stays with the bride, one male with the groom, and one or two roaming and technical persons to setup, operate, and move equipment from place to place.

Just like with photography, the wedding day video schedule should be carefully planned, and the logistics of video are even more important than photography. Keep in mind that video utilizes far more equipment than photography, including cameras, tripods, support equipment, microphones, and sometimes lighting. All of this equipment must be quickly transported, set up, and tested at every stage of your wedding day. As we plan your shoot, we’ll want to be sure to keep this in mind, and give us plenty of time to prepare for each important moment of the wedding day.

Also, there are portions of the day when cameras don’t need to roll non-stop, and videographers will take breaks during those moments.

Our EquipmentWe are keen to brag about our equipment! Since we’ve been in the video business since 2007, we have accu-mulated a large amount of video eqiupment. It’s not just about what cameras are used, but that is a big part of it. Our cameras are all high definition, high quality, professoinal cameras, including Canon and Panasonic brands. But in addition to our cameras, we also carry a wide range of support equipment for them, including Steadicam, DJI Ronin stabilization platform, cinema slider, 12-foot video crane system, and aerial cinema-tography with our custom drone.

Audio equipment is extremely important at weddings to capture the vows, the music, the speeches, and the emotion. We use professional-quality wireless micro-phones on the groom and the officiant, as well as digital audio recorders and other devices to capture the other sounds of the day. Make sure your videographer knows how to capture pristine audio!

We also have loads of backup equipment should some-thing fail. The old addage goes, “if something can go wrong, it will go wrong,” and this is very true for non-repeatable events like weddings. We’ll be prepared to keep going even if one of our cameras or other pieces of equipment should fail.

Videography Services Explained

Videography Services ExplainedWedding TrailerThis is the most popular service that we offer! The wedding trailer is a 3-5 minute short film featuring the highlights of your wedding day set to special music. You can choose the music, according to a few copy-right guidelines, and this video can be shared on social media sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, and more. Share the joy of your day with friends and family, and re-live the most exciting moments again and again with this emotional, fast-paced, entertaining short film.

Feature VideoIn addition to the trailer, your final video will include what we call the feature video. This is a fully-edited, long version of your wedding day. It includes pre-ceremony activities, the entire ceremony, and all post-wedding festivities and reception highlights. Depending on your package, this feature can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours in length. This video, when presented on BluRay or DVD, includes scene selection menus and chapter points to make it easy to find the portion you want to watch.

Delivery FormatsThe video editing process takes the raw footage and trims it down and cleans it up for the trailer and for the feature video. Once finished, we can deliver it in several ways depening on your package and your preference. The most high-tech way to deliver is via a USB jump drive. The high definition video that’s placed on the drive is playable on modern televisions, through some BluRay players, and through other devices such as Playstation or Roku box. You can also view the video files on your computer.

Other options include BluRay or DVD. BluRay is highly preferable over DVD, since DVD is just standard (low) definition, while BluRay is presented in 1080p high defi-nition. All of our footage is shot in HD, so it’s a shame to see it scaled down to lesser DVD quality. A brand new BluRay player is less than $100 now, so we’d certainly prefer to give it to you on BluRay instead of DVD.

That said, many clients still prefer DVD, since it’s still a more widely used format. We can and will deliver in any medium you would like. If your package doesn’t include the media you want, let us know and we’ll give you a price for the upgrade. The bottom line is that we want your video to look its best on any screen where you want to watch it!

Delivery DatesVideo editing is a long, tedious process that takes many hours. For our typical large package, our editor will spend at least 60 hours culling, editing, toning, color-correcting, constructing timelines, exporting footage, building disc menus, and finalizing the delivery format. Typically we shoot about 16 weddings per year, so that’s about 24 work weeks per year of video editing! Because of that large workload, it does take several months for all of your deliverables to be completed and delivered. However, your wedding trailer is typically ready about three weeks after your wedding day, so you will have something to whet your appetite while you wait for the final delivery!

We thank you for your patience as you wait for your product. We spend a great deal of time meticulously editing your video, because this is one film that will last you a lifetime, and will be seen not only by your current friends and family, but also maybe your future children or grandchildren!

Wedding Ceremony SoundSome specialty wedding venues such as outdoor locations are not always equipped with proper sound systems. Without a sound system, it can be difficult to hear the minister, and downright impossible to hear the vows. Our standard ceremony sound consists of two large speakers on stands, lapel microphones for the groom and officiant, and the ability to play prelude and recessional music. The package price includes a technician to setup and operate the system for the duration of your prelude, ceremony, and recessional.

Audio PA System RentalSometimes it makes more sense to just rent the audio system and have a friend or family member operate it. Especially when it might be used for rehearsal, cer-emony, and reception, renting the gear is the cheaper option. It is professional gear, so it will take someone who knows what they’re doing. The system includes one lapel mic and one handheld microphone. Additional equipment or mics available at additional charge.

Projector & Screen RentalIndoor projection systems built for average ambient light available for rent along with a 10’ x 10’ projection screen on a tripod. This is a standard business pre-sentation projector and screen, but is not suitable for outdoor use. Package includes all necessary stands and cabling to connect any source via HDMI. Please note that the system should be tested with certain devices like BluRay players to ensure compatibility before your event begins.

60” Plasma Screens RentalTwo 60” plasma television screens on stands avail-able for rent as standalone package or along with a sound system. Also included is an HDMI splitter to provide signal to each screen. 10’ HDMI cables are included, and up to 50’ cables can be provided at no additional charge. Must be set up and broken down by our technicians. Inputs are HDMI only. Screens are much brighter and better suited for outdoor venues or tented reception venues.

Techs can be very valuable for operating professional equipment, whether it’s something you rented from us, or equipment provided by others. Available by appoint-ment only -- not on demand.
