IEEE Patent PolicyParticipants have a duty to inform the IEEE

• Participants shall inform the IEEE (or cause the IEEE to be informed) of the identity of each holder of any potential Essential Patent Claims of which they are personally aware if the claims are owned or controlled by the participant or the entity the participant is from, employed by, or otherwise represents

IEEE PES VVTF Misc• VVTF conversion to VVOWG

– New scope: The Volt Var task force of the IEEE PES was originally tasked with developing a guide for assessing, measuring and verifying volt var optimization on distribution systems working under the Smart Distribution Working Group. With the guide ready to proceed to ballot the focus of the group will shift to a working group to understand how new technologies such as distributed resources, renewables and plug in hybrids with their increased penetration in the distribution system will impact distribution system volt var control and optimization. The group will also focus on the integration of volt var optimization with advanced application functions such as fault isolation and system restoration. Additional working group focus areas are how the distribution grid can benefit from technologies such as smart inverters that can not only provide active power but also reactive power and thus provide volt var control. The working group will also drive how industry standards need to evolve or shift to account for technology changes.
