This rule will try and eliminate teams registering players late in the season in order that they might gain an unsporting advantage over their opponents.Teams losing in the team KO first round or preliminary round will be automatically entered into a plate competition. Any team who does not want to take part in this competition must inform the committee. Teams defaulting in the team KO are not entered into the plate competition. (h) Teams wishing to play a singles match in the 2nd set before all 6 singles frames of the first singles set have been played, much seek permission from the opposing captain before 8pm on a match day.(i)Any team fielding fewer than 6 players must order their matches from 1-5 (or 1-4 should the team have 4 players) on the scorecard. Teams cannot play a player 6th (or 5th if a team had only 4 players). Same principle applies in doubles. Team’s with fewer than 6 players cannot enter a pair 9th.(j) In a 12 singles format used in the league, players can now play against the same player in both sets.

Any postponed match where either team is stuggling to arrange their match will be brought to the committees attention at the monthly meeting. At this stage the committee will decide on a rescheduled date or whether to award the match to either party depending on the circumstances. Both teams failing to make sufficient effort in arranging a postponed game within the time specified will result in a 0-0 scoreline.

9. NON-ARRIVAL OF TEAMS(a) If a team fails to arrive and start the match by 8-00pm, the team present may claim the first frame (one frame point), from then on, they may claim one frame point for every subsequent ten minutes of their opponent’s absence. http://www.facebook.com/groups/RSTPL/

The captain’s choice is a unique competition, where a single player, nominated by the captain, represents each team in the league. This competition will be run in a similar manner to the standard singles knock out.

The captain’s cup is a singles knock out competition, exclusive to captains only. Please do no attempt to enter a player into this competition whom is not the team captain.

It is the responsibility of both the home and away player to arrange and play each cup tie. Please do not attempt to claim a match because the opponent has not made the first move to arrange the tie.

Any player drawn at home to an away player whom is under the age of 18, will have to arrange an alternative venue for the match to be played, only in a situation where the under 18 away player in unable to enter the venue because of the venue age policies. The alternate venue will be chosen by the player drawn at home.

Players are entitled to claim a cup tie, only in the event that the opponent is unwilling to play the fixture and is showing a distinct lack of interest/attempt to play the tie. Claims must be made at least one week before the deadline. Claims after this point will result in an elimination of both contestants, unless there is an exceptional circumstance as to why the claim was made late. In the event that a player cannot play in the final week of the round, and he is struggling to arrange his tie, the player must contact the committee at least 2 weeks

before the deadline. There is very little the committee can do apart from expel both players if a player puts in a complaint to the committee but then cannot play in the final week of the round.

KO entries may apply for an extension to play their cup ties in the event of an exceptional circumstance. Should this situation occur, the party must attend the earliest convenient meeting and state their case. The outcome shall be agreed by all members present. Should the extension request be successful, the party must be able to play their cup tie within a reasonable period (e.g. week after original deadline).

IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT ALL CONTESTENTS ARRANGE THEIR FIXTURES WITHIN 7 DAYS OF THE TIE BEING DRAWN.

LAST MINUTE ARRANGEMENTS OFTEN RESULT IN THE FIXTURE NOT BEING PLAYED ON TIME, AND WOULD POSSIBLY RESULT IN AN UNFAIR EXPULSION. LATE DISPUTES CANNOT BE RESOLVED AND WOULD RESULT IN BOTH PARTIES ELIMINATED, REGARDLESS OF WHO WAS RIGHT OR WRONG.

There will be 7 meetings this season. Every team in entitled to miss no more than 5 meetings. Any teams missing more than 5 meetings will be deducted 5 points per meeting missed. Please ensure you are registered present at meetings.

Any team handing in a late score card will be deducted 5 frame points. This rule will be enforced to clamp down on players persistently handing in late score cards. The league can be extremely difficult to maintain if a lot of score cards are missing, therefore it is important that each team hands in their score card by Saturday 12 noon every week. Any team handing in 3 late score cards in a season will be expelled from the league. Every effort will be made to notify teams of late score cards and a warning issued via email, to ensure the teams are aware of where they stand.Transfer deadline is 12 noon, the Sunday after the 6th league game of the season. There are no more transfers after this time.Promotion and relegation will be on a 2 up 2 down basis. Teams finishing in the top 2 shall be promoted for the following season, and teams finishing in the bottom 2 (or 9th 10th 11th and 12th in a league of 12) shall be relegated for the following season. Where a team drops out of a division during the season, the number of teams relegated will reduce by one.

Captains are thanked for submitting their scores via text message every week after their matches. This enables the league to produce accurate league standings on the same night of actual games being played on our official website for members to view. Please note that it is still very important to submit scorecards for various seasons. Teams are requested to submit their scorecards via the methods at the end of this pack by Saturday noon following their game, alternatively teams can email, picture message or hand in personally to the league chairman. Picture messages of scorecards can be sent to 07803049328 or emailed to [email protected] .

SUBMITTING SCORECARDS

From this season, all the scorecards will no longer go to the Evening Telegraph. Scorecards may be submitted as follows:

-To Matthew Smithson in person-Posted to 134 Cottage Beck Road, Scunthorpe, DN16 IUB-emailed to [email protected] as a picture attachment-Photo messaged to 07803049328-Sent via facebook to Matthew Smithson

The deadline for scorecards is 10pm Saturday on the week of the fixture.

All captains are thanked for submitting their team scores on a Tuesday night via text message (or by any other means) which enables the league to update the tables that evening for the viewing pleasure of all the members. Teams aren’t required to do so via any rules in the constitution, however this maintains up to date league tables and greatly appreciated by the pool league community.

Teams are strongly urged to retain a copy of each weeks score in a book or via a photograph taken from a mobile phone. In the event of a lost scorecard, this is the only realistic way of recovering the lost scorecard for the purposes of maintaining the leagues player averages.
