WORSHIP LEADER LAUREN CHANDLER BUILDS FIRST BOOK, STEADFAST LOVE, ON GODS WORD AND FAITHFUL LOVE NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (October 2015) Lauren Chandler— pastor’s wife, worship leader, mother of three— remembers exactly how and when a life-shattering storm hit their family. On Thanksgiving Day 2009, her husband, Matt Chandler, had a seizure and was later diagnosed with Stage III brain cancer at the age of 35. The storm was just beginning, and Lauren knew she had to hold tightly to the strongest anchor possible – God and His Word. The truths that carried Lauren through that season continue to hold fast, and she shares those truths with readers in the pages of her first book, Steadfast Love (B&H Publishing, January 2016). In Steadfast Love, Lauren Chandler humbly and transparently describes how God faithfully revealed His steadfast love to her and her pastor husband during his cancer diagnosis and treatment. Using Psalm 107 as the backbone of Steadfast Love, Lauren shows the reality and inevitability of hard times – when the diagnosis is cancer, when the pregnancy is lost or when pain continues unabated. She writes: “Many of us have had our seasons in the desert. We’ve felt alone, dry, and dissatisfied. Many have felt the heavy chains of bondage, shackles that we futilely struggle against to no avail. Folly has led us to places we never thought we were capable of going. We have been shocked by our own vices. The storms come for all of us. No one escapes loss this side of heaven.” Lauren expounds on the beauty and balance of Psalm 107, as the psalmist describes both self-examination and God-exaltation. “We see ourselves with the psalmist’s eyes, we recognize the ache, the sting, the heaviness; and, we identify with the cry for help. The picture of God’s deliverance in each scenario encourages us to trust that He is willing and able—that there is a God who cares, who is not far off, who concerns Himself with our concerns, and who is the only One capable of rescuing us.” Steadfast Love is broken into 5 major sections – A Call to Worship, The Desert, Chains, Folly and The Storm. Chandler carefully examines the way her own heart has been swayed by other things that promised security during life’s storms. “I have Contact: Dave Schroeder Director of Communications Dave . WORSHIP LEADER LAUREN CHANDLER BUILDS FIRST BOOK, STEADFAST LOVE, ON GOD’S WORD AND FAITHFUL LOVE

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (October 2015) Lauren Chandler—pastor’s wife, worship leader, mother of three—remembers exactly how and when a life-shattering storm hit their family.

No one escapes loss this side of heaven.”

Lauren expounds on the beauty and balance of Psalm 107, as the psalmist describes both self-examination and God-exaltation. “We see ourselves with the psalmist’s eyes, we recognize the ache, the sting, the heaviness; and, we

identify with the cry for help. The picture of God’s deliverance in each scenario encourages us to trust that He is willing and able—that there is a God who cares, who is not far off, who concerns Himself with our concerns, and who is the only One capable of rescuing us.”

Steadfast Love is broken into 5 major sections – A Call to Worship, The Desert, Chains, Folly and The Storm. Chandler carefully examines the way her own heart has been swayed by other things that promised security during life’s storms. “I have had my share of faux-anchors—things, people, talents, abilities, statuses, even good deeds—that felt like they would hold but without exception, each failed me,” shares Lauren. “God has graciously used seasons in the desert, in chains, in folly, and in the storm to expose the weaknesses of my anchor impostors.”

Writes Lauren: “As the Lord invites you to see and know His faithfulness in showing you steadfast love, I invite you to peer into places where I have seen and known Him to be so. I must confess, it’s not always pretty. There have been tears, there have been wounds, there have been downright ugly cries, but too much is at stake to not be vulnerable with you. There is an enemy of our souls who hates steadfast anchors and loves to deceive us. But, he doesn’t have the last say. His desire to decimate is nothing compared to the steadfast love of the Lord.”

B&H is supporting Steadfast Love with a national publicity marketing campaign, online advertising and a VIP outreach campaign to influential friends and fans of Lauren and Matt Chandler.

“Hard times are evitable for all Christians,” says Jennifer Lyell, Trade Book Publisher for B&H Publishing. “Lauren Chandler is both winsome and wise in her leading the reader back to God as the ultimate anchor.”
