ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL STRATEGIC PLAN 2016 – 2019 OVERALL SCOPE SCHOOL VISION UNITED IN CHRIST : Assumption Catholic Primary School is a community seeking to grow together in love. The development of each individual is nurtured through the integration of faith, life and culture OVER ARCHING AIMS As a Catholic educational community the overarching intentions for all behaviour, habits, practise and performance in all life within Assumption Catholic primary school is to: 1.FAITH DEVELOPMENT Aspire to the school motto ‘United in Christ’ and develop the whole person growing in harmony within, with others and with creation. 2.EDUCATION ENGAGEMENT Establish a culture that promotes learning, embraces effective teaching practices and establishes a mindset that all that is done within the school is to enhance student achievement. DOMAIN LEARNING ENGAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITY DISCIPLESHIP SYSTEM LINK (CECWA) Learning (Education) Learning is what we do. We are committed to learning at every level. Engagement (Community) Engagement is essential. We are committed to Catholic Education’s mission through relationships with all. Accountability (Stewardship) Accountability is not optional. We have a personal and collective responsibility for our system’s success. Discipleship (Catholic Identity) Discipleship is our calling. We are committed to deepening our relationship with Jesus. SCHOOL LINK LEARNING At Assumption we believe Learning is an ability to marvel at the created world. It promotes a desire to seek understanding, to express creatively and to maximise one’s own individual gifts and talents. It is through learning that we can live in harmony with God. COMMUNITY At Assumption we believe that community is vital in the development of positive and enriched relationships. It promotes acceptance, embraces diversity and celebrates togetherness; thus allowing members to live in harmony with others SERVICE At Assumption we believe that Service is the notion of giving to others and wanting to make a profound difference in another individual’s life. It promotes the selfless acts of Jesus and helps us to become more like him in order to live harmoniously FAITH At Assumption we believe that Faith is a gift from God.It fosters the development of reflective practise and nurtures the understanding of key Gospel principles. It is through this that enables the growth of a personal and harmonious relationship with him Specific to the domains of Catholic Education and linked to the over arching aims of Assumption Catholic Primary School, this will be enacted by the following strategic intentions/goals GOALS/ INTENTIONS 1. GROWTH MINDSETS To foster a growth mindset amongst teachers and learning dispositions amongst students that combine to form a learning environment that fosters positive change, with common language and goals 1. ORGANISATIONAL CLARITY To provide organisational clarity amongst all stakeholders with in the school around school procedure, practice and expectations 1. AUSTRALIAN CURRICULUM To apply whole school strategy, scope and sequence; as well as assessment and reporting methodology that successfully aligns to Australian Curriculum implementation and expectation 1.FAITH FILLED Develop students as faith filled individuals who live in the model of Jesus through their actions, words and deeds 2.VISIBLE LEARNING To implement the ‘Visible Learning Model ‘consistently throughout the school, with students the focuses of the learning process and teachers encouraged and challenged to see learning through the ‘eyes of the students’, planning the learning process around this principle 2. PASTORAL CARE To build on pastoral care initiatives s that promotes dignity and integrity of all school members as priority. For community members to understand the school virtues framework and utilise its significance in their daily activities and intentions 2.AITSL STANDARDS Align teaching practices and protocols to AITSL standards and ensure teacher quality and performance is significantly monitored and modelled through these standards 2. MAKING JESUS REAL (MJR) Expand and promote the MJR philosophy to develop a real presence and assume common practice within the school 3. WALKER LEARNING To apply pedagogy of Walker Learning to improve student engagement, performance and achievement; and to provide consistent practices within the school 3. MULTICULTURAL To challenge and encourage interaction of the multicultural community to school initiatives and activities 3. PROFESSIONAL LEARNING Provide professional learning opportunities that allow for the development of staff skills, knowledge and capacity to improve learning 3. Plan for the consistent progression of changes to classrooms,

playground and staff facilities ensuring spaces are contemporary, attractive and conducive to learning
