Preface

This edition of the Official Playing Rules of the Capped Crusaders Fantasy Football League contains all current rules governing the presentation and performance of fantasy football that are in effect for the 2017 - 2018 season. Owners in the League may amend the rules from year-to-year, pursuant to the applicable voting procedures discussed in detail later.

Any intra-league dispute or call for interpretation in connection with these rules will be decided by the co-Commissioners of the League, whose rulings will be final.

The term “players” refer to football players, while the term “owners” refer to the fantasy team owner or

team manager. Where the word “illegal” appears in this rule book, it is an institutional term of art pertaining strictly to actions that violate fantasy football playing rules. It is not meant to connote illegality under any public law or the rules or regulations of any other organization.

Definitions

Franchise Player – A player that has no more years on his contract but is placed with this identifier so that the original owner can retain his rights if he so chooses.

Injured Reserved (IR) – A list of players who are out for the full year. The player does not have to be injured, nor does he have to be out for the entire season to be put on the IR. However, for fantasy purposes once a player goes on this list they cannot come off until the following season. Their salary will not be counted once they go on this list. If they have more than one year left on their contract, their contract will be counted as soon as they are activated the following season.

Luxury Tax – A $5 fine to any owner that exceeds the Salary Cap. The fine will be added to the winner’s earnings at the end of the season.

Off-Season – The period of time between seasons. The Off-Season starts the day after the championship game and ends the day after the free agent auction/rookie draft.

Player’s Price file - The file that shows each free agent’s dollar value. A player that is added to a team’s roster must be paid at a minimum the amount listed in the file.

Salary Cap – The amount of money each team is allowed to spend on its players in any fashion they wish. Teams are not allowed to exceed this amount without paying luxury taxes.

Team Log Book – The file that shows each team’s players, their contract amounts, the length of years for each player (including Injured Reserve players), and players you have cut that incur a penalty. This log will keep everyone updated on the status of each team’s cap room on a weekly basis and potential free agents heading into the New Year. Log books are sent out about once a week to show updated changes.

Rule 1: Owner’s Payment

Section 1 League CostThe cost of the League is $75 per team due on or before the day of the draft. A grace period is allowed until the end of week 2.

Section 2 Failure to PayThose owners that do not pay will be locked out at the beginning of week 3 of the season until payment is received or the season has concluded. If an owner has not paid prior to the League’s championship game, that owner forfeits all awards and the winnings go to the team that places next (i.e. if the first place winner has not paid, 2nd place will earn 1st place awards, 3rd place will win 2nd place awards, etc.). This will be strictly enforced.

Rule 2: Roster Size

Section 1 Starting LineupThere will be 9 starting roster spots for each team (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 K, and 1 Defense/Special Teams). Section 2 Bench PlayersEach team will have a minimum 6 and a maximum 8 total bench players to keep on their rosters.

Section 3 Maximum PlayersTeams will be allowed a maximum of 17 players but may choose to have only 15 or 16 if they wish to spend extra money on players as long as they fall under the minimum/maximum (See Section 2 above).

Section 4 Maximum Players per PositionThe maximum number of players per position are as follows: 3 QB, 5 RB, 6 WR, 3 TE, 2 K, and 2 DEF.

Rule 4: Schedule/PlayoffsSection 1 ScheduleEach team’s schedule will be randomly organized by Yahoo and consist of 14 games (week 1 – week 14).

Section 2 ConferencesThe league will consist of 2 conferences. Each conference will consist of 8 – 10 teams. The only time teams from the 2 conferences will play is in the championship game in which teams can have the same players.

Article 1 ScheduleEach conference plays within its own conference for the regular season and throughout the playoffs. Only the champions of each conference will play each other in the championship game. There will be no third place matchup.

Article 2 DivisionsEach conference will consist of 2 separate divisions.

Section 3 DivisionsThere will be 2 divisions per conference. The winner of each division is awarded an automatic playoff berth, however, teams are seeded based on their overall record.

Section 4 PlayoffsThe playoffs will be week 15 and week 16. Four teams will make the playoffs from each conference; each division winner will earn a playoff spot despite their record and 2 wildcard teams will win a playoff spot per conference.

Article 1 Playoff SeedingTeams that win their respective division will earn an automatic playoff berth, however, seeding will be based off overall record. The remaining 2 teams with the best records will be seeded accordingly. The third ranked team will face the second ranked team. The fourth ranked team with face the team ranked first. Article 2 Playoffs by ConferenceTeams will only face other teams from their conference in the playoffs. With the winners moving on to the next round. Following the conference championship, 1 inter-conference game will be played between the conference champions.

7

Page 8: cappedcrusaders.files.wordpress.com€¦  · Web viewWhere the word “illegal” appears in this rule book, it is an institutional term of art pertaining strictly to actions that

Article 3 Championship GameThe winners of the conference championship will face each other in the Championship Game in week 17 of the NFL season. Since Yahoo! will not be used specifically for this matchup, the teams must submit their rosters via the league message board prior to the start of an individual player’s game start time. Changes are allowed to the lineup only if the changes have been received prior to the game start time. Both League Commissioners must be informed of the changes at the time of the change.

Rule 5: Salary CapSection 1 Salary CapThe Salary Cap is the amount of money each team is allowed to spend on its players ($150 for the 2017 – 2018 season) in any fashion they wish. Owners can exceed the cap but will face luxury taxes. The Salary Cap has been put in place to keep a fair playing ground and reward teams that spend wisely. It is subject to change each year.

Section 2 Player’s SalaryA player’s salary is the amount of money a team has placed on that player. Once a player is added to the team, his salary will count against the team’s Salary Cap. Salaries are limited to a tenth of a dollar (i.e. $4.2 per year). All players must have at least a $1.0 salary.

Article 1 Player’s Expected Salary – Free Agents Salaries for each player selected in Free Agency are determined by the market (what teams are willing to bid on a given player).

Article 2 Player’s Expected Salary – Rookie Scale (League Assigned Price)All rookies selected during the rookie draft will have a league set price based on 2 factors. First, the player’s ranking will be determined by their ESPN rank on the most up-to-date rankings prior to the draft/free agency. Second, based on the player’s ranking the League will use the price from the previous season for that same ranking (increased for any increase in the salary cap). For example, if Rookie A is ranked #54 overall on ESPN, and the prior year’s #54 overall player had a league valued price of $8, then this is the rookie’s assigned value (if no increase in salary cap).

Article 3 Player’s Expected Salary – Any Players Not Selected in Auction (League Assigned Price)All players not selected during free agency auction or the rookie draft will have a league set price based on 2 factors. First, the player’s ranking will be determined by their ESPN rank on the most up-to-date rankings prior to the draft/free agency. Second, based on the player’s ranking the League will use the price from the previous season for that same ranking (increased for any increase in the salary cap). For example, if Player A is ranked #54 overall on ESPN, and the prior year’s #54 overall player had a league valued price of $8, then this is the player’s assigned value(if no increase in salary cap).

Article 4 Player’s Expected Salary – Franchise PlayerAll players selected as Franchise Players will be put on the market but are not allowed to be signed outright without the Franchise Player’s owner’s consent. Teams offering deals to Franchise Players must have the available cap room to sign the player. The owner of the

Franchise Player has the right to match any offer given to the Franchise Player as long as the team has the cap room available to take on the Franchise Player’s. If no team offers the Franchise Player, the owner of the Franchise Player has to sign the player based on the League assigned market price (see Article 3). See further details at Rule 6 Section 3.

Article 5 Expected Player’s Salary – Players ReleasedAny player released during the season and now a free agent will be assigned a price based on their ESPN rank on the most up-to-date rankings immediately prior to the free agency auction/rookie draft (even if a player received a higher or lower price during the auction). Prices are predetermined prior to the free agent auction for ALL players. Therefore, if a player is released there is a corresponding predetermined amount that will relate to this player.

Section 3 Player’s Contrac t A player’s salary and the number of years they are assigned to a team.

Article 1 Minimum/Maximum Salary A player’s minimum salary is $1.0. A player’s maximum salary is $136 (for the 2017 - 2018 season), leaving room for 14 players (to meet a minimum of 15 total players) to be paid $1.0 each to fill the remaining minimum roster spots. This changes as the salary cap changes.

Article 2 Contract L ength Each team is given a certain number of years (21 years) to allocate to players on their roster. Each player, except rookies, can get anywhere from 1 to 4 year deals, but owner’s cannot exceed more total years than they are allotted. Once the player has fulfilled the years on his contract, he becomes a free agent.

Article 3 Contract DateThe end of the League year marks the end of the contract year. Therefore, those players in the final year of their contract become free agents 1 hour prior to the draft. All players still under contract at this point are allowed to be traded and each team has a franchise tag. See further discussion at Rule 6.

Article 4 Rookie ContractsRookie contracts can be no longer than 2 years but these players can receive the Franchise tag at the end of their contract.

Section 4 Cap Penalties A team will be penalized for cutting a player that has time left on his contract, even if the player is hurt. Injured reserve is set up to help teams get rid of hurt players without counting salary against the cap. All penalties for cutting players will be rounded up or down to the nearest tenth of a dollar (i.e. penalty of $1.14 will be $1.1; penalty of $1.15 will be $1.2)

Article 1 Amount Applied to PenaltyA player’s full contract from the day he was signed will be penalized for the year the player is cut (i.e. a player is signed for $20 over 2 years or $10 per year. The penalty percentage is applied to the $20 and not the $10).

9

Page 10: cappedcrusaders.files.wordpress.com€¦  · Web viewWhere the word “illegal” appears in this rule book, it is an institutional term of art pertaining strictly to actions that

Article 2 Percentage Applied for PenaltyThe percentage applied to the amount discussed in Article 1 depends on the length of the contract and weeks remaining in the current football season. As discussed below, in the final year (or only year) of a contract the percentage applied directly relates to the week in the season that a player is released. The week begins on Tuesday morning (12:00AM or immediately following the finish of Monday Night Football, whichever is later). For example, if penalties decrease from x% to y% starting week 12, any player released on Tuesday morning following week 11’s games will be applied a y% penalty instead of an x% penalty.

Article 4 One-year contracts Any player with a one-year contract will incur a penalty depending on the time left in the season (see Article 3 above)

Article 5 Multi-year contracts Cutting players in a multi-year contract will result in a 100% penalty for the first year of the contract.

Final year of contract - Any player in the final year of a multi-year contract will incur a penalty depending on the time left in the season and the length of the original contract. See Article 3 for penalty percentages.

Multiple years remaining – Penalties for players cut with 2 or more years remaining will depend on the length of the contract and the years remaining. See Article 3 for penalty percentages.

Article 6 Length of PenaltyAll Salary Cap penalties for cutting players are effective for the year in which the player is cut and are based on the full contract; all teams will have penalties erased following that season.

Article 7 Commissioner Removal of Players If a player is removed from another team’s roster prior to game-day by the commissioner(s) for not meeting the contract length rules only, no penalty will be charged unless noted otherwise.

Section 5 Luxury Tax A penalty of $5 (real money owed by the team owner) per every dollar a team spends over the Salary Cap goes into the luxury tax community pot. ALL FRACTIONS OF A DOLLAR WILL BE ROUNDED UP AFTER

10

Page 11: cappedcrusaders.files.wordpress.com€¦  · Web viewWhere the word “illegal” appears in this rule book, it is an institutional term of art pertaining strictly to actions that

THE CAP HAS BEEN REACHED (i.e. $120.2 salary will be counted as $121), as there will be no fractions of the $5 fee being paid. A team will owe taxes for each week they are over the cap (THIS IS NOT A ONE TIME PENALTY).

Article 1 Paying the TaxAll taxes will be tracked and you are responsible for paying them. If you do not pay the taxes within a reasonable time frame the following penalties will result:

1. 1st warning – Warning and possible removal of players from your team that have put your team over the cap.

2. 2nd warning – Your team will be locked by the commissioners and no moves will be allowed.

3. 3rd warning – Owner removed from the league.

Article 2 Luxury tax – Failure to pay

If an owner is over the cap, they must pay $5 for each cap dollar they are over the cap, each week until they are no longer over the cap. Failure to pay the tax will result in penalties discussed in Section 5 Article 1 as well as disallowance to win any earnings in the playoffs. Earnings will be provided to the next lowest finisher in the playoffs or the team that loses to the team that failed to pay.

Article 2 Luxury tax – payout

The total amount of luxury tax will be awarded the Conference Champion unless the Conference Champion was responsible for any luxury tax at any point during the year. The next highest finisher in the Conference will then be awarded the luxury tax money.

Rule 6: Off-Season

Section 1 Free AgentA player whose contract has expired or a player who has been cut and is free to be picked up by any team is a free agent. The team with the highest bid will obtain the player. Section 2 Off-Season TradesDuring the off-season, trades are allowed such that teams involved in the trade are within salary cap and contract length rules. Players’ rights may be traded at this time and they do not have to be under contract for the upcoming season [i.e. Owner 1 trades Player A’s rights to Owner 2 for Player B (or rookie draft pick); Player A is under contract for the upcoming season, Player B is scheduled to be a free agent. Owner 1 may designate Player B a franchise player or let the player become a free agent].

Section 3 Free Agent Auction The free agent auction (i.e. draft) marks the beginning of the new season. All owners come together to bid on free agents before the rookie draft and before the football regular season begins. The free agent auction will be conducted in a similar manner as a fantasy auction draft.

Article 1 Conferences

11

Page 12: cappedcrusaders.files.wordpress.com€¦  · Web viewWhere the word “illegal” appears in this rule book, it is an institutional term of art pertaining strictly to actions that

Separate auction drafts are held for each conference. All players (except those currently under contract or rookies) are available to be bid upon by any owner within the respective conference.

Article 2 BiddingAll owners are allowed to bid on any player at any time during the draft with 3 exceptions. Owners are not allowed to bid on: (1) NFL rookies or (2) their own franchise player(s). Additionally, (3) if the owner cannot afford the player or has no more roster space (maximum of 17 players). This will be just like an auction where the bidding continues until no one wants to bid any higher. The person with the highest bid wins the players rights.

Article 3 Nominating Players1. Nomination Order – Owners will nominate players in their draft order; whether or not the

nominating team has the winning bid on the player, the next nomination goes to the next team in the draft order.

2. Player limits - Players must be nominated in order to be bid upon. When an owner nominates a player, the commissioner will assign a price to start the bidding (i.e. Player X for $3). If a player is valued at $5 or more, then the bidding will commence at 50% of their value (i.e. player A is valued at $10 so the bidding will start at $5). If the value of the player is less than $5 dollars then the bidding will start at $1.

3. Once an owner has decided to end their nominations, runs out of roster space, or runs out of cap space, they are no longer allowed to bid. The owner will sit out until the rookie draft, unless they are unable to draft rookies due to roster space, cap room, or no draft picks.

a. Owners are not required to draft all 15 – 17 players in the auction draft, but must have at least 15 players after the rookie draft.

b. Owners may elect to sit out the remaining auction draft if they wish to no longer bid on players; however they must ensure they will have 15 minimum players on their roster.

Article 4 Bidding LimitsSalary Cap – All owners are to be weary of their Salary Cap limits and ensure they have at least $1.0 for every remaining roster spot. Your bid will be withdrawn if you violate the Salary Cap rules.

Section 4 Franchise Player Prior to the free agent auction, each team can designate one player from their prior season’s team that will be eligible to become a free agent as a “Franchise Player.” The original owner does not bid and does not nominate on this player but sees what other teams are willing to offer the player. An owner can choose not to designate a franchise player.

Article 1 Matching OffersA Franchise Player does not go directly to the free agency pool; his owner is not allowed to bid on him or nominate him for bidding but is allowed to see what other teams will offer to acquire him once the player is nominated. This allows the original owner the opportunity to match any offer from another team if he chooses to do so. If the original owner chooses not to match or cannot afford to match the new offer, then the player goes to the highest bidder. The team that wins the rights for the Franchise Player (if it’s not the original owner who franchised him) will lose their first round pick in the current year’s Rookie Draft. The first round pick will go to the original owner of the franchised player. Teams are limited to acquiring 1 franchise player from

12

Page 13: cappedcrusaders.files.wordpress.com€¦  · Web viewWhere the word “illegal” appears in this rule book, it is an institutional term of art pertaining strictly to actions that

another team; Once they have obtained a franchise player they are not allowed to bid on other franchise players. An owner who elects to match their own franchise player can still bid on other franchise players until they obtain someone else’s franchise player and lose their first round pick.

Article 2 Limits on OffersOther teams cannot offer a contract they cannot afford. If the Franchise Player is not nominated during the auction by any team (not including the original team, as they do not nominate their own Franchise player), the player is given a 1 year contract at the league-determined price for the following season. The league-determined price will be based on the market price of players ranked similarly on ESPN. If a team cannot afford the new price, then a player(s) will be dropped off of their roster until the Franchise Player fits under the cap. The player(s) being dropped are at the owner’s discretion, remembering that he must stay within roster limits. The player/players dropped will go into the free agent pool and can be picked up by anyone. Penalties for dropping these players will not be applied.

Article 3 TradesA Franchise Player can be traded for draft picks or other players, such that both owners follow the league Salary Cap and contract rules. No owner can have more than 1 franchise player prior to the draft.

Rule 7: Rookie Draft Section 1 DraftThe draft will consist of incoming rookies and will be two rounds long. Teams do not have to choose a player unless they want (they can forfeit their pick if there is no room on their roster, no room in their cap, or if they do not wish to pick a rookie). Rookies not selected will go into the free agent pool. If you choose to forfeit your first pick, you will automatically forfeit your second pick.

Section 2 Draft DateThe date of the Rookie Draft will be on the same date as the Free Agent Auction. The draft will occur following the auction and the rookies will be assessed prices determined prior to the draft as stated in Rule 5 Section 2 Article 2.

Rule 8: Mid-Season Acquisitions

Section 1 Cap and ContractsWhen a team picks a player up from the free agency pool during the season, the player must fit under the Salary Cap and contract rules. Any player that has been picked up via free agency or waiver wire is designated with a 1-year contract. See Rule 5 Section 4 for penalties.

Section 2 Waiver Claims For waiver claims (start of player’s game through Wednesday 2:59 am EST) see “Yahoo Waiver System” at Section 2 Article 1. All contract terms will be announced via league posts. If a player is signed following the waiver period (Wednesday 3:00 am EST – Saturday), the player’s will be set at their pre-determined value based on ESPN ranks prior to the auction draft. The conference commissioners will review the signings to ensure no violations have occurred. The Team Log Books will be updated and available for owners to view.

13

Page 14: cappedcrusaders.files.wordpress.com€¦  · Web viewWhere the word “illegal” appears in this rule book, it is an institutional term of art pertaining strictly to actions that

Article 1 Yahoo Wai ver System The waiver system that is set up allows for the highest bidder to win the rights to a player once the player is on waivers (starting Sunday – or when the player’s game starts – and ending Wednesday at 2:59 am EST). However, the league commissioners will review any transactions to ensure the player fits in the cap and the contract lengths (Luxury Taxes will result if an owner is over the cap). If there is a tie in the bidding, Yahoo will award the player to the team with the lowest waiver priority (1 being the lowest). The waiver priority will continually roll throughout the season based on the number of moves a team makes.

Section 3 Game-Day AcquisitionsAll players picked up on game-day must be within the contract length rules and are subject to luxury tax penalties if they are over the Salary Cap. If the terms of the deal do not fall within the contract length rules, the points gained by the player added to the roster (if they are in the starting lineup) will be deducted by the commissioner (resulting in zero points for this player, even if the player earns negative points) which could lead to a loss for the week. It is encouraged to add players to the roster prior to game-days, although this is not always possible given the frequent occurrence of injuries. If the acquisition puts a team over the Salary Cap, the team is obligated to pay the luxury tax.

Section 4 Trades Trades can be offered at any time before the trade deadline. All trades must fall under both the Salary Cap and contract length rules.

Article 1 Trade DeadlineThe Trade Deadline for each season will be determined by the commissioners prior to the free agent draft.

Article 2 Trade VetoFor a trade to be rejected, a majority (>50%) of the other teams must veto it.

Article 3 Trading Draft PicksDraft picks can be traded; however the draft consists of only rookies and is only 2 rounds. Therefore, rounds 3 and above are void as there will be no rookie draft rounds after round 2.

Article 4 Covering salary in tradesTeams can offer to cover portions of the salary of a player in order to allow a trade to work within the Salary Cap. The owner that covers the salary will lose that space for the rest of the season. If a player has more than 1-year left, the portioned covered only relates to the current year and the player will have full salary in the following season.

Rule 9: Undrafted/unsigned PlayersAll undrafted/unsigned players will stay in the free agent pool and will carry a minimum Salary Cap amount that must be reached in order to obtain that player’s services. Undrafted or unsigned players WILL NOT automatically be assigned $1.0; their salary will be based on their ESPN ranking immediately

14

prior to the free agent auction. See Rule 5 Section 2 Article 3 for further details. See Player Price file for prices.

Rule 10: Injured Reserve/Suspensions/RetirementsSection 1 Player InjuriesAny player (whether injured or not) who is under contract is allowed to be moved to the Injured Reserve (IR) list or released just the same as any other player. A player who is injured but not on injured reserve can be released, but must go directly into free agency where he is free to be chosen by another team and the owner will incur a penalty for dropping him, just like a normal release of a player.

Section 2 Injured Reserve (IR) Injured Reserve consists of 2 roster spaces available to each owner for players whose salary will not count against the team’s that places the player on IR. The player does not have to be injured or out for the entire football season to be put on the IR, but for fantasy purposes once a player goes on this list they cannot come off until the next season. Their salary will not be counted once they go on this list. If they have more than one year left on their contract, their contract will be counted as soon as they are activated the following season. A maximum of 2 players are allowed on IR. Players on injured reserve can be left on the team in Yahoo or released, but cannot be picked up by another team as they are currently under contract by the team that placed them on injured reserve. Players under contract for multiple years can be placed on IR prior to the league draft and will be unavailable for anyone the rest of the season. The team placing the player on IR will count against the 2 IR spaces available for that team.

In instances where teams incur luxury tax penalties, the respective Conference’s champion will receive these fees as part of their winnings, unless the Conference champion incurred ANY luxury tax penalties during the year (the next highest finisher with no luxury tax penalties during the year will receive the additional money).

Rule 12: Replacement/Removal of Owners

Section 1 Owner DepartureIn the event of a departure (whether voluntarily or involuntarily) from the League by a team owner, a replacement owner will be sought after to take over the abandoned team. It is the commissioners’ discretion as to whether the new owner will take the salaries and contracts left by the departing team or will be allowed to start with no players under contract and no ability to franchise a player.

Section 2 Rookie DraftFor owners new to the conference, they will be awarded the draft slot of the team they took over for unless the league is expanded further. In this season, the order will be selected at random on the draft day. If the draft pick was previously traded, the new owner will receive a different draft pick and the owner of the old draft pick will continue to pick in the slot of the old owners place. New owners with a completely new team will be randomly assigned a draft pick that fits into the remainder of the rookie draft.

Rule 13: Expansion/Contraction of TeamsSection 1 ExpansionIn the event of an expansion of the Conferences to 12 (or more) teams, the divisions will be expanded to equal sizes. New teams will receive the first pick in the Rookie Draft (1 st pick determined at random) and will have a 1-round expansion draft in which they can select 1 player from free agency for market price without other teams bidding, excluding franchise players.

Section 2 ContractionIn the event of a contraction of the conference to 9 (or fewer) teams, the divisions and conferences will be contracted to equal sizes. All contracted teams’ players will become free agents and can be bid upon.

Section 3 ConferencesConferences will remain equal sizes.

Rule 14: Rule ChangesSection 1 AmendmentsAll proposed amendments must be agreed upon by the commissioners prior to league vote.

Rule 15: Flexible Cap/Cap SavingsSection 1 Extra Salary Cap SpaceTeams that do not wish to spend all of their cap space have the ability to recoup this cap space the following year. The team’s salary cap will be reviewed at Week 1, Week 7, and Week 13 with their cap savings noted in the team log book. If teams are below the cap they will be rewarded with an increase to their salary cap space in the following year.

Section 2 Percentage appliedThe reward will be 25% of all cap savings up to a $10 increase in their cap space based on the current year’s league salary cap ($150 for 2017-2018). For example, a $10 increase to the following year’s cap will take effect if the team had an average of $40 space below the league cap of $150). Cap savings will be rounded down to the nearest dollar (i.e. average cap savings of $11.2 times 25% is $2.8. This would be $2.0 savings the following year).

Section 3 Exceptions to Flexible CapThe following are list of exceptions to the flexible cap, if teams meet either of these exceptions they will not be eligible for flexible cap the following year.

1. Any team that is over the cap at any point during the season is not eligible for cap savings in the following year.

2. A team that has less than the minimum of 15 players on their roster at any (gameday) Sunday during the year is not eligible for the cap savings in the following year.

Section 4 Cap savings in year with additional cap spaceFlexible cap is meant for teams saving money against the original salary cap. In years where an owner has more cap room than the league determined cap due to savings in the prior year, only cap savings below the league cap ($150 in 2017-2018) will be counted. All additional left-over cap room will not be counted. A maximum of $10 each year will continue to be in effect.
