represent on your pizza. Make a list. 2. Brainstorm with your partner ideas for your pizza. The flavours and ingredients on the pizza must

immediately communicate the specific allocated location. 3. Write a good copy of your final recipe to serve 2 people. Print and hand up to the teacher. Use the

Pizza Dough

Ingredients ¾ C warm water2 t dried yeast1 t sugar½ t salt1 C plain flour½ C whole meal flour

Method1. Preheat oven to 200ºC.2. Place warm water in a small bowl, add yeast and sugar.3. Stir, place in a warm place until the yeast begins to bubble slightly (about 10

minutes).4. Sift flour and salt into a mixing bowl and make a well in the center. Pour yeast

mixture into the flour and mix with a round top knife until most of the moisture is absorbed.

5. Using your hands (sprinkled with flour) push the rest of the flour into the mixture to form a smooth dough.

6. Knead lightly on a floured board until the dough will absorb no more flour. 7. Divide the dough into two and roll to the desired shape and size to fit a pizza tray.8. Spray the pizza tray with spray oil.9. Spread the pizza base with toppings. 10. Place pizzas in oven and cook for 10-15 minutes.

Task 2 Planning (in a pair) – Designing a Pizza Box

Analyse the following scenario from your allocated area of Italy;

Sicily: Tony is about to re-open his pizza shop in Sicily, he has contacted you to re design his take away pizza boxes. He wants the main colour theme to be Red, White and Green. He wants to include a new logo that incorporates an image of an onion and the following phrase; Non c'è megghiu sarsa di la fami - Hunger is the best sauce.

Calabria: Maria is a chef at an Italian restaurant called il Sale – salt, they have just introduced takeaway pizzas to the menu. Maria needs you to design and create a Pizza box that indicates the name of the Restaurant and three ingredients that are most common to Calabria or most commonly used in their dishes, however she doesn’t want any images of tomatoes or cheese.

Naples: Antonio is the son of the head chef at an Italian pizza shop in Naples. He wants to surprise his dad by redesigning their take away pizza boxes with a new and fresh theme. He wants you to design a pizza box that represents the main theme of the coast or ocean whilst representing the ingredients known to Naples.

Aosta valley: Teresa is a chef who makes and sells fresh pizza from her home. She needs you to design a pizza box that represents her location, traditions and culture. The Main colour theme is green, and she wants you to incorporate an image of a window and a traditional Italian pizza wood oven.

Emilia Romagna: Luigi is a chef who has just opened a pizza stall at the local market. He needs you to design a pizza box that features Italian culture and he wants the central theme to be around Italian cured meats. He also wants images of Italian sausage, prosciutto combined with vines and grapes. He wants the words il sapore – the taste, to be displayed somewhere within the design.

1. Investigate the scenario based on your allocated area and design a pizza box meeting the constraints of the scenario.

2. Fill in the pizza box template with your design, labelling your images and choices/reasoning for using the specific features.

3. Bring in materials from home as well as those supplied at school to create your design.
