A devastating earthquake, about 8.9 on the Richter Scale, has unleashed a Tsunami . This enormous wave destroyed everything on the North-East coastline. It happened on the 11th March in Japan.

Cities, houses, cars, people, roads, bridges and animals were swept away. It also damaged a nuclear power plant. The cooling system failed and then there was an explosion. People are being evacuated because of safety reasons and possible radiation leaks..

After the Tsunami, 380,000 people have lost their homes and there are constant blackouts. The death toll is over 10,000 and they are still looking for survivors.

Many different countries have sent rescue teams, doctors, nurses, medicine and food.
