Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mass for Four Voices
William Byrd
5 March 2017
11:15 AM
William Byrd (c. 1540-1623)
composed this Mass setting in
the 1590s during the height of the English Refor-
mation. The publication date is difficult to pin
point as it is believed Byrd did not publish all
parts together in order to make it easier to dis-
tribute for the celebration of Masses held in se-
cret in homes. Join us at the 11:15am Mass on
Sunday, 5 March to experience this inspiring
Mass setting!
Girls in grades 3-7!
Do you love to sing? Are you tired of singing
alone?
Join the St. Benedict’s Choir!
The Choristers provided musical leadership for
the 9:00am Sunday Mass, which has traditional-
ly been a family orientated Liturgy. The Cathe-
dral Girl Choristers will rehearse each Tuesday
afternoon from 4:30pm-5:30pm and will be sing-
ing at least twice a month.
If you are interested in joining our Music Min-
istry, please contact Daniel Sansone at
843.724.8395 or email
Greeters and ushers are needed for the 6:00 PM
Mass each Sunday.
For further information regarding becoming an
usher, contact J. Shannon Hurley at 843-556-3578

mation regarding becoming a greeter, contact
