I t is extremely ambitious, we know that, but by saying and believing in it, the ambition can take form, passing from person to person and sprea-ding across the world, slowing triggering something in each person and showing the small spark of change. This in turn ignites other changes

leading to a virtuous circle of change..

everyone who choses to take part in the 5.30 project takes a commitment; it’s not only about the event t-shirt, it’s about that desire of changing the world.

Sometimes i think everyone can see and hear what i feel, but everyone should be honest with themselves so they can see and hear what they really are… different lifestyles which meet at dawn and separate straight after. every time after a 5.30 event finishes we want to do it again, like when you never want a concert to end.

what does make us different? … the reason behind it. we promote a healthy lifestyle through exercise, food, culture, arts and expe-rience right where the people live and work. all these words don’t just sound nice together, these words represent our everyday life. 5.30 is for everyone, and everyone of you will take a bit of it and share it with someone to trigger that change which starts from changing your own habits.

Don’t dream it. Be it!

The unconventional format was conceived by the founders Sergio Bezzanti, a graphic designer & avid runner, and Sabrina Severi,

a biologist with expertise in nutrition and wellness. They were passionate about finding an interesting way to promote a healthy, positive lifestyle centred on daily physical activity and eating well.

The first event saw over 550 participants take to the streets of the italian city of Modena in 2009. after seven years, 5.30 has become one of the main events in nine cities across italy reaching a total of 35,000 participants - 6,000 of whom are students.

in 2015 Sergio and Sabrina brought the 5.30 event format to the uK. on Friday 3rd July over 500 curious and enthusiast participants gathered in old Market Square, Nottingham just before 5.30 in the morning. The event was so successful that it was repeated in 2016 - this time bringing 850 people to the main square. Further events were also launched in Derby and Leicester.

Some history

5.30 the eco friendly 5k The 5.30 event has minimum impact on the environment:• start and arrival points perfectly cleaned few minutes after the event;• no music and no environmental noise (no power generator); • attention to the materials utilised, recycling advertisement equipment (the pvc used for

banners is converted into shopping bags by students in Modena);• seasonal fresh fruits for the post-event breakfast;• biodegradable glasses and separate collection of waste.

The original goal to create and celebrate a positive lifestyle concept centred on daily physical activity and healthy eating.

we achieve this by organising a sustainable 5k walk/run event starting at 5.30 in the morning on a working day. it takes place in the city centre and ends with locally sourced food & drinks. This allows us to share the positive message of an active lifestyle and healthy eating in an inspiring & interactive way. at the same time, we offer participants a new vantage point on their city and encourage them to see it in a different (early mor-ning) light. The result? an increase in the wellbeing of the people in the town they live and work in.

5.30 is sustainable and environmentally friendly event that will help the community get more active and healthy
