Raising the Game - Boys face Olympic Judo Master class

The RTG boys spent three lessons last Thursday working with Olympic silver medallist and Sky Sports Living for Sport mentor Tom Reed.

We are in the finals!

On Tuesday 21st April, Year 8 and 9 Girls’ Football team played their semi-finals against Swindon Academy. The game started off well with Ella Broad scoring within the first 2 minutes thanks to a well worked long throw from Chloe Charlwood. This was quickly followed by goals from Sapphire and Ella again. Swindon made it passed the half way one once, winning a corner and subsequently scoring.

Kingdown were leading with a half time score of 3-1. Kingdown went out to dominate the second half possession stats, allowing lots of scoring opportunities, with only poor finishing to blame for numerous chances being missed. Swindon managed to get a number of shots away in the second half, but most being off target and leaving Lucy little to do in goal. Billy Manton showed some quick footwork, managing to get her shots off quickly and beating the goalkeeper twice. Chloe Charlwood returned to the pitch with some excellent energy and coming to win the ball managed to barge her way through on the half way line, leaving herself a 1 on 1 situation before drilling home a low, powerful shot (she earned the title of man of the match by Swindon Academy).

The final score was 6-1 to Kingdown who now go to play in the final against either Dorcan or Sheldon on Wednesday 6th May at Stanley Park (2.00pm kick off). Good luck girls!
