Dear Members, What a wonderful Women’s Council of Realtors® year we have experienced! Many thanks to all of you who have attended our business resource meeting & luncheons and spread the word about our “cutting edge” educational meetings we are holding. Our members have been excited to network with current and future business affiliates, as well as taking advantage of our fun meetings like our February Masquerade & Martini event. I especially want to thank the members of our Governing Board and Special Committees who have all been such a help in assisting my transition into the Presidency this past March. Our Tampa Chapter is richly blessed with volunteers who give of their time “to enrich our lives” enhancing our potential within the Tampa Chapter as Industry Leaders. As we enter our last half of the year we promise more exciting Speakers and Events and ask you to please remember to share your WCR experience and invite someone to join today. Remember our Mission . . . We are a network of successful REALTORS® empowering women to exercise their potential as entrepreneurs and industry leaders. Here we go . . . our first WCR Tampa Newsletter and I’d like to start off with

a BIG Thank You to the Tampa Tribune for making it happen. WCR Tampa is buzzing, it’s growing and we want you to know all the news in a timely manner. So we’re attempting to send you brief, easy to read updates so that you can stay informed. The Nominating Committee is organizing and we’re looking for members to step forward and get involved; so if you’re interested please let us know. Also, we want to hear from you to see what you’d like to see in the newsletter. Contact me at bgkunkel@gmail.com or 813-778-1444. It’s a contest to name our newsletter. Exciting News, Bridging Tampa Bay, is the order of the day for our WCR Tampa Chapter. As of June 2013 we have 20 members joining us from Pinellas County bringing our chapter to over 100 members strong. Please welcome our friends from across the bridge as you see them at our July 18, 2013 BRM in Brandon. On the heels of an Affordable Housing Seminar, Tech Fair and Realtor® Builder Expo that we participated in June by having a table and making luggage tags for Realtors stopping to see what we are about, we will follow this up with some fun and educational activities. This will be an exciting year as we continually grow our members. Look forward to our August Meet and Greet in the Westshore Area, details to follow. 2013 NOMINATION COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED

It’s that time of the year that we select a Nominating Committee for the 2014 officers. Any one nominated from the Governing Board must be an active Realtor® member and the additional five active Realtor® members must come from the active Realtor® members at our Business Resource meeting on July 18th. They shall be nominated and voted in at that meeting with only Realtor® members and National Affiliates voting. Three of them with the highest votes will serve on the committee and two will serve as alternates. The committee will select a candidate for each 2014 office of President Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. Please help us select our 2014 leadership by volunteering to help Pam Terrell, Chairperson of the 2013 Nominating Committee.

This summer is HOT for the WCR Tampa Chapter! We have some great events planned.

Mike Finley, VP Sales & Marketing, Ryland Homes “How to Stay Positive in Today’s Real Estate ‘Perfect Storm’” On July 18th at the Embassy Suites Brandon (10220 Palm River Rd.), Mike Finley, Ryland Homes VP of Sales & Marketing will be presenting “How to Stay Positive in Today’s Real Estate ‘Perfect Storm’!” We are all working in a very challenging market – low inventory, multiple offers on properties, short sales, REO properties – you name it, we are facing it! Mike will be giving us some tools to use to overcome the stress and find success. Prepare to get MOTIVATED! In August, we will be having another evening Meet & Greet! Please watch your email for the date and location (it will be somewhere in the Westshore area). September 19th will be our annual Joint Meeting with GTAR and CRS, featuring Tony Polito, Metro Study who will be giving us an update on our local real estate market. Mr. Polito has studied our market for years and always offers insightful commentary about market conditions and trends. The meeting will be at Maggiano’s at Westshore Plaza.
