President’s Corner

Louise Hansen President

We have just wrapped up our 47th International Show. The juror, Susan Webb Tregay NWS, AWS pulled together an exciting and diverse show from the hundreds of beautiful entries from all over the globe. A special thank you goes to Shirley Doiron, show chairman, Susan Henning, workshop chairman, and Kathy Miller Stone, show hanging chairman, and all you (spouses included) that gave time, energy, and worked hard to put together another successful International Show and corresponding workshop. We could not do it without you! We are moving forward on a busy year with fun and great things to come. Our first Summer Member’s Meeting is June in Covington with a demo on pouring watercolor by Kathy Miller Stone LWS-M. Definitely check out our exciting fall workshop, “Capturing the Light” by Lynn Ferris NWS, AWS in New Orleans in September. This one is filling up fast, don’t miss out. Find details on these and all the other great events coming up this year in this newsletter and on the LWS website. Ahhh…welcome summer! And all the inspiration it brings, the sights and sounds. Trips to new places and old favorite places, happy and laughing children, flourishing gardens of flowers and vegetables, fishing trips, bike rides, dogs romping at the dog park, festivals, bar-be-cues, blue skies and sunshine. There is no end of subject matter. Pull out your sketch books, and fill them with memories. Straighten up your workspace, check your supplies and LET’S PAINT!
