Useful information and notifications
Today we went to the water slides. It was
very steep and there was a cold pool at the
bottom.
Then we went to the little slide. It had a big
cold pool that had two slides.
After that we saw Brenden. He said, “You
should get towels because I’m going to put
you in the pool.” That made no sense to us
’cause we will be at gimp!
“Wow, what a great show today! Goodbye, and go 60’s!”
Later…
“Help, Shawn!”
“Kiri!”
15 minutes later…
“No, Kiri! Let’s hunt for Kiri, Derby Sum-mer Arts.”
The whole camp says: “Yeah!”
At Art 1, Alex says “Hi Kiri.”
Kiri says, “Shawn.”
Alex: “No Kiri, it’s Alex. When you can’t come to the Noontime Show, I will host and rule the camp! Ha ha ha!”
Kiri: “You are crazy.”
Will Shawn come to rescue Kiri?
Wait until tomorrow...

Random Challenges
By Charlie Donahue
Age: 9
My favorite period is Random Challenges.
I like random challenges because well we
do VERY random challenges and the
councilors are awesome [Alex , Evan, and
Josh]. Sometimes we just play fun gym
games that the awesome councilors make
up. Like today we did a paper airplane
contest an tried to throw the air plane as
far as you could. I love random challenges.
The stream said “No,” because Bob the
pony was using up too much water. The
stream was about to turn into a desert
because there was no water left. The pony
was furious, so he went to a different
steam, and he asked that stream if he
could use some of his water. The stream
said “No.” But little did the pony know
that the first stream’s brother was the sec-
ond stream that Bob had asked for some
water. But the first stream told the second
stream to say no when the second stream
had plenty of water left. So in the end the
pony learned that you can’t take, if you
don’t give.
A fun dance class at Derby is Hip Hop!
This year, five people are in the class. In
the class, you get to make up different
dance moves. Then they get put in the
dance! The class is also trying to make
the dance into the noontime show. Dark-
ia teaches the class, and Symone is the
CIT. The class is tiring so if you take the
class, you get a break. In the break, you
get water and you sometimes get food. If
you have to go to the bathroom, in the
break, you can do that too. The class is in
the room where teachers teach different
languages in the school year. The people
in the class like the class because they
think it is fun.

Mikey
By Brooke Halaby
Age: 11
Mikey is my neighbor’s cat but I wish it
was my cat. He never scratches you and
is friendly towards everyone. He’ll eat
any type of food and is always waiting
right by your door when you come back
waiting to play. As you pull in your
driveway he will meow his cute little
meow and it will reveal his little mouth
and teeth. Every time he finishes eating
something, no matter how small
amount it is, he’ll lick himself and
Mikey looks SO CUTE!!!! Once in a
while he’ll come in our house and roll
around on our carpet and get some of
his fur on it. In the morning he’ll wait by
our step and stretch really far and hold
onto the tree. Mikey always hunts for
chipmunks by putting them in his
mouth and torturing the chipmunk until
it dies. Sometimes we’ll feed Mikey
some chicken, tuna, salmon, and beef
treats. That way he’ll always come back! Minecraft 2

A Song I Wrote A Very Random Fairy
Tale #4
By Brooke Halaby
Age: 11
Once upon a time, there was a very
FLUFFY bird, named Red, flying in the sky
with many other birds that were not
FLUFFY. All those other birds wished to
be fluffy just like Red but ignored the fact
that they weren’t fluffy and moved on with
their own life. But there was another bird
who all he wanted was to be FLUFFY. This
“other bird” was Red’s brother and was
always jealous of something that Red had,
but now he was so jealous he was willing
to do anything to be able to be fluffy. The
“other bird” didn’t even have a name be-
cause he was so jealous of the name Red.
The other bird even tried to do things that
would make Red jealous but it didn’t work
because Red didn’t worry about his broth-
er. The other bird needs to learn a lot from
Red. All the other birds who are friends
with Red at first wanted to be friends with
the other bird but realized he was jealous
everything. The other bird’s life is going to
be filled with jealousness instead of happi-
ness.
Never known someone like you before!
Someone who makes me laugh when I fall
down to the floor. I always see you in my
mind who makes me want to see you again
and again!
Never seen a girl as strong as you. Always
seeing the good in me. Never laughs when I
do something wrong. I love how you do
things. You do everything right. I always
need help. You are perfect, I am not. I don’t
know how you stay strong so long. You al-
ways know how to make me feel good!
Thanks for reading my song!

World War 2 Clicker

Noontime Show Update:
Wednesday
By Amy Zhang
Age: 10 Vincent van Gogh was a very good painter.
He painted a picture that’s hung up in the
clay room where Nancy teaches Yea Clay.
Vincent van Gogh painted a lot of sunflow-
ers. He painted a picture of a church. At
the time, none saw his talents. He painted
everything until one day he swallowed
paint and was restricted to drawing with
pencil. Vincent van Gogh was a very fa-
mous artist.
The World War 2 clicker was like Morse
code for the Americans, except it made
sound instead of light. It sounded like a
cricket so at night the Nazis could not
find out where they were. The Americans
hid in the bushes in the day but at night
they clicked and regrouped, then attacked
the Nazis when they were tired and worn
down. The World War 2 clicker was a
very smart way to find each other in
World War 2.
Yesterday’s noontime show was very fun.
Shawn dressed like a hippie, and Kiri
dressed like a flapper. First, Samantha
Hosp and Eliza Farley did “The Cup Song.”
Then Mo Fish and her husband sang “Love
is an Open Door.” Next Haley sang “Do
You Want to Build a Snowman?” After the
song, Delaney sang a song from High
School Musical. The Musical class per-
formed a song from the The Music Man.
The Rock Band played with Sophie sing-
ing. Everybody did a fantastic job!
In the noontime show on Tuesday, Kiri
and Shawn dressed up in Narwhal cos-
tumes made by Brooke! Also, Verna and
Eddie played some amazing African
drumming songs! After that, Nancy pre-
sented some beautiful quilts and WDRB
news station introduced the “weather
bees” and gave a wonderful act! That
was it for the noontime show on Tues-
day!
