8:30 -10:15 AM Attracting & Retaining a New Generation of Employees Panel Discussion . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Salon EFGHAs Baby Boomers begin retiring in large numbers, the disparity in size between the exiting workforce and Generation X has led economists to predict a 40% shortfall in available workers . This means that the populous Millennial generation is being asked to fill the employment hole in record numbers . The large gap has magnified the cultural and motivational differences that naturally exist between two or more generations . Along with this, teachers are often faced with tough decisions when trying to find balance between the profession they love and the sizable debt they face from student loans . The average college graduate has more than $35,000 in student loan debt, which affects daily life decisions and causes some educators to reconsider their career choice . Our panel will discuss how districts can use creative benefits and compensation strategies to attract a new generation of workers without alienating existing personnel .

Salon BCBenefit compliance reviews are providing some common themes that affect specific compliance issues with schools, including: COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, Section 125 and Notice and Disclosure requirements . This session will focus on the basics and the essential compliance information you need to know to help your district comply with the myriad of requirements . M3 Senior Compliance Attorney Karen Breitnauer will lead the discussion, joined by Rachelle Hady, Benefits Manager for Madison Metro School District and Breanna Hellenbrand, Account Executive (and former Leader) of the M3 Education and Government Practice Group . While ACA Compliance needs to continue to be a focus, organizations also need to remain up-to-date with ALL the compliance requirements associated with employee benefits . Districts offer an array of valuable benefits to their employers, and spend much of their time administering and, more importantly, communicating the quality and value of those benefits to their employees! Don’t lose that valuable time because of some compliance related issue!
