WASAG LOGO DESIGN CONTEST The Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture WASAG A contest for design entries for the logo for WASAG - The Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture is now open. “The Global Framework on Water Scarcity in agriculture (WASAG) has been designed to bring together key players across the globe and across sectors to tackle the collective challenge of using water better in agriculture to ensure food security for all. It is an initiative for partners from all fields and backgrounds to collaborate in supporting countries and stakeholders in their commitments and plans related to the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, the Paris Climate Agreement (including implementing nationally determined contributions) and other plans and programmes related to agriculture and water.’ Entries should reflect the mandate of, and challenges facing, WASAG. Designers should be influenced by the following themes to produce a strong, imaginative design: sustainable water use, global connectivity, climate change and, most importantly, water scarcity itself.

A contest for design entries for the logo for WASAG - The Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture is now open.

“The Global Framework on Water Scarcity in agriculture (WASAG) has been designed to bring together key players across the globe and across sectors to tackle the collective challenge of using water better in agriculture to ensure food security for all. It is an initiative for partners from all fields and backgrounds to collaborate in supporting countries and stakeholders in their commitments and plans related to the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, the Paris Climate Agreement (including implementing nationally determined contributions) and other plans and programmes related to agriculture and water.’

Entries should reflect the mandate of, and challenges facing, WASAG. Designers should be influenced by the following themes to produce a strong, imaginative design: sustainable water use, global connectivity, climate change and, most importantly, water scarcity itself.

Technical RequirementsEntries can be composed of a either a WASAG Typographic logo alone along with the strapline 'The Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture' or a representative symbol accompanied by the wordmark ‘WASAG' - and the strapline 'The Global Framework on Water Scarcity in Agriculture’.

Initial entries should be in jpg or gif format, no smaller than 800 pixels in width (141 mm), but the selected winning entry should be made available in a vector format (eps, ai) for scalability and infinite quality in a variety of future applications. The file size should be smaller than 5MB.

Entries should be able to function in large and small formats, and any typography used should be legible at smaller point sizes or in smaller applications/uses. Alternate versions of designs, which work on both light and dark backgrounds as well as versions which work in single colours, would be welcomed but are not compulsory.

Designers are invited to also enclose a brief description of their work (inspirations, justifications, aims, etc). (Max 2000 characters), although this is not compulsory.

Other areasDesigns deemed to too closely resemble an existing design will not be deemed eligible. Entries must be entirely the work of the designer and must not breach or be in violation of any copyright or other rights of third parties. WASAG will not be in any way liable for any non-original work submitted by the designer and the designer agrees to indemnify and hold WASAG harmless from any such claim. All entries must be suitable for publication on the WASAG website and public viewing. The design must not include any defamatory offensive or unlawful content.

There is no limit to the number of entries an organisation or individual can make. Although each design should be clearly distinguished by file name i.e.: J_SMITH_WASAG.jpg

The selected design will become an intellectual property of WASAG. WASAG’s decision is final and binding. Should WASAG Interim Steering Committee approve of the concept behind a given design, but not its execution, we may ask the designer to develop his or her work further.

The closing date for entries is 31 December 2017, although WASAG reserves the right to extend the competition deadline at its discretion.

Steps for the Logo Competition:The logos will be screened through the Technical Requirements (by the Support Team) – by 12 January 2018The screened logos will be online for vote by WASAG Partners (each Partner has one vote) – by 2 February 2018ISC will proclaim the winner (if 2 logos have same number of votes, ISC decides) – by 9 February 2018

PrizeThe winning entry will receive an exclusive gift package to mailed to the address of the winning entrant.
