Qualities1. PROOF

The highest and most valuable minting quality. 'Proof' coins and strikes are minted with specially polished dies. The background and relief must be fl awless.

2. UncirculatedCoins and strikes with the usual metal glow and a brilliant fi nish, that have not been in circulation and do not have any recognisable fl aws.

3. Extremely FineCoins of this quality may be slightly worn from circulation. They may have very slight fl aws in the coin fi eld and some traces of mint lustre.

4. Very FineVery Fine coins are moderately worn. Small traces of use are visible and there may be wear on the highest points of the coin, but that should not signifi cantly affect the relief and the inscription should be readable.

5. FineA coin of this description may be very worn. It will show signifi cant signs of use and may have some fl aws, but the entire motif and inscription should be clearly recognisable. For coins circa 1900, there is little interest in collecting coins of this quality grading.
