From Your Pastor’s Heart I am thankful that all have survived the flooding! The rains were relentless there for a week or so! The Shower and Laundry Unit has been called into action and helped the shel-ter in Cayce at the Trinity Baptist Church! Thanks to Johnny and Phillis King and all the volunteers for a job well done! We need more volunteers to be trained at the next Training for Disaster Relief! I also want to thank all for the help with the mattresses
at St. Terry and St. Kathy Orphanage. We were able to buy all the mattresses needed! I appreciate Josh and Jessica for spearheading this effort! I also appreciate the extra giving many of you have done the past two Sundays! We are catching up on the budget after missing the Sunday due to the flooding! Swansea folks always come through! November is going to be busy with all the missions activities! Shoe box-es, Angel Tree, Christmas music and so much more is happening this month!

Metallic Club To Celebrate Rudolph’s
84th Birthday
On Monday, November 16th, the Metallic Club will honor Thanksgiv-ing by bringing food for a needy family. The family selected will have a wonderful dinner on that spe-cial day. Also, Rudolph Sturkey, a member of SFBC since 1950, will celebrate his 84th birthday with cake and ice cream. Rudolph and Billie have been married for 59 years. While he was in the Air Force, they traveled the world for 21 years. After return-ing to Swansea, Rudolph worked for NAPA for 40 years. For 20 years he served as a deacon and was also a Sunday School teacher. Those who know him, admire his green thumb. He always has a beautiful garden full of vegetables every summer. Come help us celebrate. It starts at 11:00am in the Fellowship Hall.
The Student Ministry at Swansea First Baptist Church will strive to put God first in every aspect of our lives, build relationships as brothers and sisters in Christ, learn and mature as believers in Christ, show the love of Christ by serving others, and we will share the truth of God in word and deed.

Preschool News & Tidbits
The children seem to have settled in, no more tears, yeah!! We still have 22 children enrolled. We all thought there would be another huge adjustment after our long “break” because of the flooding rain but just he opposite happened, the kids were very happy to be back at “their school”, how exciting! God is good all
the time, and we need to continue praying for His will in this ministry and for all who are involved! If anyone has a talent they would like to share with the children please con-tact Cindy Grimsley at 803-542-4869. Upcoming Events

Student Ministry News October was an interesting month to say the least. We dealt with historic rainfall and the flooding that occurred with that. Personally, that event was a reminder of how good we have it. God has blessed us with many things and provided for us through this event. Many people in the midlands were hit much worse than we were and I encourage you to continue to pray for them as
they are in the process of putting their lives back together. November 1st is a big day for our Student Ministry for 2 reasons. This is the day that Chillipepper registration opens. Chillipepper will be $175 per stu-dent again this year with a $50 deposit due to register for the trip. Many of our students have already earned a significant portion of their balance through the peanut fundraiser. If you want to go on this trip I encourage you to register early as space will fill up. November 1st is also the deadline to turn in a $50 deposit for Summer Camp. I have been monitoring several camps and our preferred week, June 20-24, is starting to fill up at some of the better camps. Summer Camp is a great ex-perience and one that we have not had in a while. If you are the slightest bit in-terested in going to Summer Camp I highly encourage you to go. The final cost for the week will depend on the camp that we select. Right now I am looking at Student Life Camp in Myrtle Beach. They have a great line up of speakers and Rush of Fools is on tap to lead worship for the week (we have seen them at Chil-lipepper). Finally, we will wrap up our “12” studies this month. I especially want to thank our leaders: Wayne and Cindy Grimsley, Chippy and Lucie Flake, Joye Hoffman, and Bill Granger for leading us in these studies. I hope you have en-joyed the look into these Biblical characters’ lives and have learned something along the way. We look forward to seeing you each week on Wednesday night and some of you more often now that our fall sports are wrapping up.
In Christ, John Harmon 2 Tim 2:15

Library News
So many good books and movies, which to pick first?! That may be your thoughts when you come into the library; but just take a couple
home, and next time get more. Some of the new picks are Crazy Love by Fran-cis Chan, The Best Yes by Lisa Terkeurst, Parenting with Kingdom Purpose by Ken Hemphill, The First Shot by Robert Rosen; great fiction picks such as Man in the Blue Moon by Michael Morris, So Shines the Night by Tracy Higley, The Missionary by William Carmichael and a number of new books by Karen Kingsbury; new movies include The Crippled Lamb, Last Ounce of Courage, and Indescribable. On Sunday, October 25th, the library celebrated the beginning of its 5th year of service to our Church family, as hard as that is to believe. We hope that you took the opportunity to come by during our drop in celebrating our anniver-sary and we hope to see you in the library soon! We would also like to invite children between the ages of 5 and 12 to come in and make a Christmas stocking fro themselves as a gift. We are look-ing forward to seeing the results of their God-given creativity!
