Girls' Football Competition

Mr Willetts' took our first all-girl team to Derby Soccerdome to compete in a tournament with 28 other schools.

Mr Willetts was immensely proud of the team with lots of staff from other schools commenting on our children's manners,

determination, resilience and sheer grit to be the best they could be.

Mr Willetts is currently completing his level 1 coaching certificate at St George's Park and

once completed will be offering an after school training session for our football

teams.

Inset day

We have decided to hold an additional inset day on Friday 19th June.

We have been working hard on curriculum development and our school vision and values so would like an additional day to focus and build on this as a whole staff

team.

As an academy school we can have additional inset days for staff training and

development.

No Toys in School

A few children have been bringing toys in from home recently. We have a no toy rule as

they get lost etc.

If you feel that your child needs a ‘fiddler’ then please speak to Mrs Irvine our SENCO as

this can be provided by school for those children who need this for sensory purposes

Curriculum Showcase

Our next Curriculum Showcase is planned to take place on Thursday 2nd April at 2pm

Corona Virus

We are keeping up to date with the Government daily updates. Mrs Rowe is working with the Governing Body and the other JTMAT heads to consider the government advice and formulate a

plan if the virus arrives with us, In the meantime, we have increased cleaning, we are teaching children to wash hands for a

greater length of time with plenty of soap and we have purchased sanitizer dispensers for around school. If anyone has any contacts or knows where we can get sanitizer from please pop in to the school office as we cannot seem to find anywhere that has any left in stock over the last month!

Please help us to do your bit by encouraging your child to wash their hand properly and keep germs to a minimum. We would be grateful if you could keep school updated with any recent

travel plans that you or a family member may have encountered and of course alert us immediately if corona virus becomes evident in your own networks.

We are looking to reduce any significant events in the school calendar where large groups of families will come together to hopefully reduce the risk of the virus spreading.

We will keep you updated. Thank you.

Medication in School

Gentle reminder that we can only administer prescription medication in school with a care plan completed via the school office and signed by a senior member of staff. All medication must be

named and stored correctly with the prescription information clearly visible. Please do not ask staff members individually if they will administer medicine on your behalf.

If you feel your child requires Calpol during the day, you are welcome to pop up to school during the day however this is with prior agreement from the senior team.

Inhalers and epi pens must all be in date. This is parents' responsibility to keep these updated in

school.

Walton on Trent CE Primary and Nursery School

Code of Conduct: Parents/Carers and other visitors to school

At Walton on Trent CE Primary and Nursery School we are extremely fortunate to have very supportive and friendly

parents without which we would not be able to function so successfully as a Christian School. Educating children is a

process that relies on partnership between parents, class teachers, staff and the school community. It is important that

children see everyone working together to help them understand how to work in the future. Therefore, we will always

welcome parents and carers into school.

This policy is to remind everyone about how we expect them to behave in and around the school.

Guidance

We expect parents, carers and visitors to:

respect the Christian Ethos of our school;

always respect the school staff and support the things that have been done to help your child learn;

set a good example by behaving well and not using bad language;

make sure you ask the school for their view of any incidents so that you can see if it is the same as your child’s view

before you take things further;

make sure your child is behaving so that things don’t get out of hand;

ask the school for help if you don’t understand something or want to know more detail;

In order to have a peaceful, safe and happy school environment, parents, carers and visitors must not:

disrupt classes or any area of the school;

question decisions made by the school in front of children or other parents;

use loud or rude language, swear or show temper;

threaten to, or hit/push a member of the school staff, other parents or carers;

damage or destroy school property;

criticise the school, staff, pupils or other parents on the school premises, or on social network sites;

send abusive or threatening emails or make abusive or threatening phone calls;

physically punish your child on school premises;

go up to another child to ask them, or tell them off, about something that may have happened with your child. This

may be seen as an assault;

smoke or drink alcohol (not at a school event) or have taken other drugs whilst on school premises;

spit on school grounds;

If parents, carers or visitors do not accept our guidance the school may need to contact other authorities and possibly ban

offenders from being on school grounds.

We know that parents, carers and visitors will be happy to help us provide a safe and happy school and we thank you for your

support.

Sending abusive messages to members of staff

3.2. The school appreciates the simplicity and ease of instant messaging online; keeping in

contact outside of school can benefit the school community by keeping the school

community closer.

3.3. Should any problems arise from contact over messaging apps, the school will act quickly

by contacting parents directly, to stop any issues continuing.

3.4. Walton-On-Trent CE (C) Primary and Nursery School can request a meeting with parents if

any misconduct, such as sending abusive messages or posting defamatory statuses,

occurs online.

continue between parents or parental bodies.

4. Monitoring and review

4.1. The head teacher will review this code of conduct on an annual basis and will

communicate any changes to all teachers and parents.
