Importance of OEA• Q: How significant is the OEA information in the

calculation of admission scores by participating-institutions / programmes? If an applicant obtains 5** in all subjects but does not have any entries under OEA, will this reduce the chance of admission?

• A: Determination of applicants' suitability for admission is entirely the decisions of the 9 participating-institutions and is entirely independent of the JUPAS Office. Applicants should refer to the general entrance requirements and individual programme requirements for more information.

Conditional Offer based on OEA• You may be given conditional offer(s) based on

the OEA information you have submitted!

• You can view the feedback on 10 July 2015 (from 9:00 am) by logging in onto your JUPAS account to check the results

• You will be notified by the JUPAS Office and you will be required to submit the certified true copies of relevant supporting documents to the JUPAS Office during the period 10 – 18 July 2015 (by 5:00 pm)

Other Possible Uses of OEA in Jupas

• Some OEA items may be counted in the point calculation of assignment of Jupas place

• Some OEA items may be critical in distinguishing two applicants with equal point

• Some OEA items may initiate granting an interview for you

• OEA and “additional information” may provide the content which the interviewer will ask you

• Good selections matching your Jupas Choices!

– Need to show that you have a target in your senior secondary school life!

– May handle for variety of choice!

• Be coherent with your “additional information”!

– Support your “additional information” to show how you become who you are!

– Give points of focus during interviews (if any)!

Jupas Online Application System

• Should always search for the items provided by Jupas

– Try different keywords!!

• For any ambiguity which may occur, type in the explanation in “description” part

• It is a must to type explanation for clarification in “description” for self-entered items

Supporting Document for OEA• JUPAS system will randomly select and request

for the supporting document(s) for OEA item(s)

• The item will immediately be highlighted in pink if it has been selected

• The supporting document(s) should be in either PDF or JGP format smaller than 0.5 MB

• If there is any discrepancy between the information you have entered and the information in the supporting document(s) you have uploaded, the information contained in the supporting document(s) is final.

Deadlines• School Deadline for submission and amendment

of OLE items in Eclass: 26th December, 2014

• A report on your OEA records during your senior secondary school year will be issued in Mid of January

• You may use it as a verified document which can support your OEA items held inside school to submit in Jupas system

• Jupas Deadline for OEA: 5 February 2015 (by 11:59 pm)

Some Gentle Reminders• Please upload your self-account (500 words)

through the “additional information” in OEA with the same deadline 5 February 2015

• An optional item called Student Learning Profile SLP (PDF max. 3 MB) may also be submitted through Jupas online system on or before the deadline of 31 March 2015

• Otherwise, you may submit the SLP to individual programmes when you are invited for interviews
