Introduction

Thank you for purchasing our VENTECH® DVR. This Quick Start Guide is designed to guide you through

basic installation of our product and will show you how to setup a remote monitoring connection.

Before installation and operation please read the following instructions and warnings carefully.

Warnings / Safeguards

▪ Read this guide carefully and keep it for future reference, follow all instructions for safe use of the

product and handle with care

▪ Do not disassemble the products

▪ The DVR should be installed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and inflammable or

explosive substances.

▪ Do not apply power to the DVR before completing installation

▪ Do not place objects on top of the DVR

▪ All installation and operation should conform to your local electrical safety codes

▪ Periodic cleaning may be required. Use a damp cloth only. Do not use harsh cleaners or aerosol

cleaners

Setup Wizard

1. At startup, you will be asked to Login, the default User is admin and default Password is

empty (blank).

2. After login, wizard will start showing you the QR codes of the IPhone and Android APP,

also will show you the QR code for the device ID (you can search and download the NVSIP

APP on your Smartphone store or do it later).

3. Next step is general settings, you can set language, date format, time…

4. Next step is User configuration, you can modify default user, we strongly recommend to

keep default user and password but if you need to change it please keep new password

well saved, password recovery process is very complex due to security standards. You

can create and modify local and network users later by accessing MAIN MENU / GENERAL

/ USERS.

5. Next step is network configuration, you can set all the Network parameters, we

recommend to select Automatic (DHCP) mode.

6. Next step is channels and stream configuration, you can change channels resolution,

system will use maximum resolution by default (recommended).

7. Next step will show you hard disk capacity, you can format HDD at first time.

8. Last step you can uncheck to display wizard at startup, you can access wizard any time by

MAIN MENU / GENERAL / and clicking WIZARD button.

Record Setup

▪ You can access to record setup doing right click on main screen and selecting record setup

icon, you can also click the record setup icon that is located at the popup menu that

appears when you place the mouse at the main screen bottom.

▪ Once inside the Record menu you can select the manual or scheduled record mode for

each channel, on scheduled mode you can set recording hours or periods (Scheduled

record can save hard disk space,).

Note: you can also set motion detection record mode by accessing MAIN MENU /

MOTION DETECT, then you select channel, set motion detection sensitivity required, and

click start to record at alarm output menu.

Playback

▪ You can access to Playback doing right click on main screen and selecting Playback icon,

you can also click the Playback icon that is located at the popup menu that appears when

you place the mouse at the main screen bottom.

▪ Once inside Playback menu, you can select channel you want to play recorded videos, you

can also play multiple channels at same time.

▪ At the play menu, you have all the playback options like snap, sound, fast and slowed

forward and back play, (from 1/16X up to 16X speed).

▪ At playback menu, you can also backup DVR recorded videos to USB storage devices

Power Off

To power off the DVR you must click the Quit icon that is located at the popup menu that appears

when you place the mouse at the main screen bottom, then click Shutdown. You can also use Quit

menu to User Logout or Restart the device.

Factory Reset

If you want to reset the DVR to its original factory settings, you must access MAIN MENU /

MAINTENANCE / and click Reset Factory button

Smartphone Remote view (NVSIP APP)

1. At the first remote configuration, we recommend you to connect your Smartphone at

same Wi-Fi of the LAN that the DVR is connected.

2. Search “NVSIP” in App Store (for iOS) or in Google play (for Android), or scan QR code APP.

You can check QR codes accessing MAIN MENU / SYSTEM / PHONE MONITORING

3. Open the APP at your smartphone, at the first time running the software you need to

register, then can login and manage device, through registered accounts multiple devices

can be added to manage. You can also use visitor login to add and view a single device

4. After login, click the (+) button, then scan the Device ID QR code, introduce User and

password (admin and none by default) and save.

5. Please exit APP and restart your phone. (extremely recommended for Android users)

6. Open NVSIP app again, and log in or click visitor login.

7. Then click your added device, select channels and start to monitor your cameras, you can

also control PTZ, record and change some device settings remotely.

Remote view via CMS program

1. Please open the web page www.nvsip.com/en/login.shtml

2. Once there please do click on Download CMS. The program will start downloading, it will

take a few second. After the downloading process is completed, please open the CMS program and proceed to install the program on your computer, the process will take a few minutes more. This program is completely safe so please accept all the permissions on your computer.

3. Open CMS program, please click on “Devices” to add your DVR, after login (User: admin

and no password by default) please select “Device list”, then create a new group. This new group could be called as you like, and press OK.

4. If the DVR you want to add is connected to the same network of your PC it will

automatically appears on the left hand of this menu. Please double click on the device and it will be added to the group previously created, then click exit.

5. If your pc is not connected to the same network of your DVR or the device does not

appear on the list previously described please select the group you have already created and click on “Manually”icon.

6. At Device field, you can introduce any name for the DVR, at Vendor please select NVSIP, Then at Connection type select CloudSSE_port, then introduce the NVSIP ID of the DVR (to find this ID number please do right click on the main screen of your DVR and select system setup from the pop up menu then find the system sub menu and please select Information) leave port by default, introduce DVR user and password and then click “OK”.

7. At the left top of the main screen you will find your created group, please do right click on

the DVR you just added and then click on connect all, all channels of the DVR will be displayed.

Troubleshooting

The DVR does not turn on and the indicators are not lit.

• Check if the DVR power adapter is properly connected.

• Plug the power adapter to another power outlet, the current outlet may be damaged.

Channels have no video signal.

• Check if the cameras are properly connected.

• Check if the cameras are supplied with power.

• Set the correct video format used in your country (NTSC/PAL).

The remote control is not working

• Make sure nothing is blocking the remote control and the DVR. Aim the remote control at a proper

distance.

• Check the remote-control batteries.

Motion detection function does not work

• Check if the motion detection is enabled, and motion area is marked for the channel

• Check motion detection sensibility and adjust it as your needs

I cannot access the web client

• Check if the network cable is properly connected to the DVR.

• Check if the UPnP function is enabled in router and DVR or if the router does not support UPnP,

then make sure the port forwarding is completed.

• Check if the network settings are properly configured. DHCP recommended.
