Parti-cipants were dressed inwhite clothes to demon-strate the message ofpeace and unity againstterrorism.Thedaystartedwithoneminuteofsilencefollowed by prayers forthemartyrsoftheattack.

SRCBUIChostedAIESECinformation and registrationsessionon7thDecember2016.A large number of studentsfromBUICattendedthesessionandshowedinterestingettingregisteredtoworkwiththem.Itwas such a vibrant interactivesessionthatitdrewattentionofthe BU faculty as well andcompelled them to recom-mended and encourage theirbrightstudentstosignupforit.

Bahria University Islamabadorganized various activities to promoteAnti-Corruption on the campus and offcampus. BU participated in the debatesand poetry competitions organized byNAB on 1st December 2016. All thedepartments at BUIC, had differentactivities to highlight the menace ofcorruptionanditseffectsonoursociety.Students showedkeen interest in activi-ties and participated in many competi-tions.WhiteFridaywasalsocelebratedbyBUstudentstoshowtheirsolidarityanddeterminationagainstthecorruption.

The disabi l i ty day wascelebrated at Bahria UniversityI s l amabad Campus on 21 s tDecember2016toshowtheempa-thy towards the special people inthesociety.Tocreatetheawarenessamong the students of BahriaUniversity, theArts andDramatics

club performed a theatre play inwhichtheproblemsoftheimpairedwere highlighted. The day alsofocused on ongoing campaigns toeducate society on the need toacceptandliveinharmonywiththedisabled,ratherthantreatingthemasburden.

The Music Society of Bahria Universityorganized the “BahriaMannequin Challenge” on24th November 2016. The students activelyparticipated in this challenge tomake it famousand viral all around the social media. The

On 25 December, 2016Bahria University celebrated thebirthdayofQuaideAzamMuhamadAli Jinnah. Students presentedspeechestohighlighttheideologyoffatherofnationtomakeaseparatehomelandforMuslimsofsubconti-

nent. Followed by speeches stu-dents presented an inspirationalmimethatwasapplaudedbyalltheparticipants. Coupled with thisstudentslightuplanternstoexpresssolidaritywithChristiansontheeveofChristmas.

BU is playing vital role for personalitydevelopmentofitsstudentsbyprovidingcreativeplatforms. Studentsareprovidedasecuredandnon-political environment along with highlyquali�ied faculty members and high-tech infra-structure. Bahria University has always endeav-oredtopolishcurricularandextra-curricularskillsofitsstudents. Considering the importance ofextra-curricular activities, BahriaUniversity Islamabad Campus cele-brated Student's Week from 15-17November, 2016. The week wasobservedunderthetheme'CelebratingDiversity' and the objective was is toprovide a platform to faculty and stu-dentstolearn,cooperateandshowtheirtruepotentialbyparticipatingindiffer-entactivities. Pro-Rector/ Director General CampusBahriaUniversity,RearAdmiral(R)ShahidSaeedHI(M)inauguratedtheevent.Aculturalshowwaspresented to enlighten the culture of different

provinces of Pakistan. The Celebrations of theWeek were ornamented with Culturalshow, carnival, sport activities, E-Gaming,theatre,photographycompeti-tion, Model United Nations, Voice ofBahria and Inter-University SketchContest. In additions to these motiva-tional lecturesandspeecheswerealsothepartsof theactivitiesduringweek.

Keeping up with its tradition of beinginvolved in community work, Bahria UniversityIslamabadcollaboratedwithLettuceBeeKidstoeducate street children inFall-2016 to completetheirmandatory40hoursofCSP. The student of BU volunteered to teachchildren with available sources. The volunteerstaughtchildrenshapes,colors,basicmathematics,Englishalongwith introductoryessays.Childrenperformed art activities, watched cartoons as aformof entertainment, learntdifferentwords toenhance theircreativityand imagination.Efforts

weremadetoenhanceinterpersonalandcommu-nicationskillsofchildrenwhichleadtoimprove-mentoftheirpublicspeakingskills. Apsychodramaonsuicidewasperformedby the students of third semester on how tinynegative thoughts can creep into our life andslowlydestroyusbytakingcontrol.Aftertheplay,ashortpoemontheskyisthelimitwasrecitedbyastudent, and the event ended with a video thathighlighted the various events of mental healthweek.
