I hope you had a chance to at-tend the ASPE Technical Sym-posium in Orlando last month. I did and I found the sessions to be informative as well as I was
able to get a lot of my continuing education credits for my licenses and certifications. It really is a great value for the amount of CEUs you get. I encourage you to attend. Next year is the Convention in Chicago; ASPE is celebrating its 50
th Anniversary so
start planning for it. National is asking the chapters to review the proposed changes to the Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes. We need to compile our comments and get them to the ASPE Legislative Committee by November 15, so if you have any comments get them to me ASAP or by November 1
st. Give me any
suggestions you might have in support of or in opposition to the position of the IAMPMO Technical Committee’s actions on the pro-posed changes. The ASPE Technical Com-mittee will review all the comments and sub-mit them to IAPMO by January 3, 2014. To access the IAPMO Technical Committee’s reports with the proposed changes you can go to the following links: Uniform Mechanical Code - Report on
Proposals Uniform Plumbing Code - Report on Pro-
posals Finally I also hope you got out to our last meeting, if not try to come out to at least one meeting you won’t regret it., I’ll see you there.

I would like to take a mi-nute to thank the ASPE National Board & the North Carolina Chapter for hosting one pleasur-able Convention. The four days I got to spend in Charlotte were
packed with well-organized meetings, edu-cational seminars and events that promoted networking. My favorite, the NASCAR Mu-seum was one majestic structure filled with history that could easily have taken days to completely enjoy. Downtown Charlotte was inviting, vibrant and alive. The streets were packed with people in some original cos-tumes enjoying the holiday and night life. Those people down there take their Hallow-een seriously. This was not the first convention I’ve had the pleasure of attending, but it was the first one as a delegate representing our Chapter. What a completely different experience it was. Impressive is one of the words I would use to describe the masses of delegates from all around the country and even some from other countries representing their Chapter’s interest. I felt like I was in the House of Representatives. It was quite a memorable experience and I was proud to represent New Jersey. The next convention is scheduled to be held in Chicago. Thank you to Mr. Rand Ackroyd of the
Plumbing Drainage institute for his very in-
formative presentation on “Grease Trap”,
and to Dellon Sales for sponsoring the
night’s table top which featured American
Standard Products. The next meeting will
