HAWK WEEKLY Volume 3, Issue 27 February 8, 2016
A Note from the Superintendent
SUMMER CAMP All Cadets are invited to participate in NVMI’s Summer Camp at Camp Pendleton June 18-28, 2016.
The cost of the trip is $100 and is due with the permission slip by 8AM on April 2, 2016. Cash or merits are the only form of payments that are accepted. All cadets will be given a receipt for payments. Payments are NOT refundable. Payments should be made at the Hawk Exchange. Cadets may partially in merits and partially in cash, and may make installment payments through the Hawk Exchange.
Cadets should bring the items included on the packing list provided with the Camp Circular. If there are questions about the packing list, please see your TAC team. For additional information, please see page 2
PARADE OPPORTUNITY
All cadets are required to participate in at least one parade each semester. For second
semester, the first available parade is the Riverside Date Festival Parade on Monday
February 15. Permission slips and information sheets are available from all TAC
teams for interested cadets. While there are other opportunities for parades, it is best
to “Get it out of the way” early, especially since the other parades have known
conflicts with other events like the Band Disneyland trip, State Drill Competition and
IMAs, Spring Break, etc. Parents should encourage their children to participate in
this parade if at all possible. Permission slips are due by this TUESDAY at the latest 8:00 am.
HAT DRIVE NVMI is collecting hats that can be worn by cancer patients. The
company who collects the most hats (by percentage of hats divided by
number of cadets in the company) will earn 300 honor unit points.
The drive lasts through February 28.
WRESTLING is now being offered each Sunday for students in ANY grade level.
Students do not have to be academically eligible to participate, since it is not an
interscholastic sport right now. If you would like information, see Coach S or
email him at [email protected].

Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Parent Group will be collecting Box Tops to raise money for our school. Did you know that some local
schools raise thousands of dollars for their schools each year, just from clipping and submitting Box
Tops? Each Box Top is worth ten cents.
Box Tops are on the packaging of hundreds of participating products that you probably use every day. All
you need to do is cut them off of the box they are on, stick on the collection form or in a baggie with your
child’s name, company and Id number and send them to school with your child. Every 10 box tops your
child turns in will receive 1 merit. If you would like to earn one parent service hour you will have to
submit 50 box tops. It’s easy and you can ask family and friends to collect them for you.
The Company that collects the most box tops by February 26, 2016, will win 250 honor points. So be sure
to turn in your box tops to the Main Office Attn: Kay Deitch by February 26, 2016.
We plan on making the submission deadline by the end of February, so start saving and sending in your
Box Tops today!
Sincerely,
Kay Deitch
