PhD thesis entitled “Sequential vegetation cover changes in Murree forest division of Pakistan by using GIS and remote sensing” for peer review in office of the Chairman, Department of Forestry and Range Management, UAF from 16-09-2020 for one week. The faculty and the students are invited to puruse the thesis for any correction and improvement please.

2. Ms. Mahreen Alam, Regd. No. 2014-ag-2677, is a PhD student of Economics at Institute of Agriculture & Resource Economics. She will be placing her thesis entitled “An economic analysis of groundwater quality and its impact on wheat, maize and milk production in District Sahiwal, Pakistan” for the period 18-09-2020 to 25-09-2020 in the office of Director IARE for peer review. All concerned faculty members and studnets are welcomed to read/comments.

3. PhD thesis of Miss Saba Saeed, Regd. No. 2008-ag-1601, a PhD student of Plant Pathology will be placed in the office of Chairman for peer review from 14-09-2020 to 21-09-2020. The title of thesis is “Biochemical profiling of indused resistance in chilli pepper (Capsicum annum L.) in response to Fusarium wilt”. The observation/suggestions received as a result of peer review will be incorporated in the final thesis to be submitted to controller of examination for further processing.

4. PhD thesis of Miss Kaneez Fatima, Regd. No. 2010-ag-2926, a Phd student of Plant Pathology will be placed in the office of Chairman for peer review from 15-09-2020 to 22-09-2020. The title of thesis is “Characterization and integrated management of Fusarium spp. associated with gram wilt in Thal region of Punjab”. The observation/suggestions received as a result of peer- review will be incorporated in the final thesis to be submitted to controller of examination for forther processing.

5. Ms. Rabia Zafar, Regd. No. 2013-ag-1989, is a PhD student of Economics at Institute of Agriculture & Resource Economics. She will be placing her thesis entitled “Price Mechanism of Drinking Water : Implications on health cost and livelihood in Faisalabad, Pakistan” for the period 18-09-2020 to 25-09-2020 in the office of Director IARE for peer review. All concerned faculty members and students are welcome to read/comment.

6. PhD thesis of Ms. Faiza Hassan, Regd. No. 2007-ag-1534, a PhD student of Pharmacology will be placed in the office of Director, Institute of Physiology Pharmacology for one week w.e.f. 17-09-2020 to 18-09-2020 and 21-09-2020 to 25-09-2020. The title of her thesis is “Comparative Antidiabetic Potential of Nigella Sativa and Saphaeranthus indicus in alloxan induced diabetic rats”. All interested persons are invited for their favorable suggestions.

7. PhD thesis of Ms. Sidra Noreen, Regd. No. 2014-ag-364, entitled “Changing cultural patterns with reference to Modernity: Facts from public sector Universities in Punjab, Pakistan” will be placed in the office of the Chairperson, Department of Rural Sociology from 18-09-2020 to 25-09-2020 for peer review. All concerned faculty members and students are welcome to read/comments.

8. PhD thesis of Miss. Iqra Naeem, Regd. No. 2007-ag-2112, PhD student in Department of Plant Pathology will placed in the office of Chairman, Department of Plant Pathology for peer review from 17-09-2020 to 24-09-2020. The title of her thesis is “Integrated management of citrus anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum spp. on Kinnow mandarin in Punjab, Pakistan”. The observations/suggestions received as a result of peer review will be incorporated in the final thesis to be submitted to Controller of Examination for further processing.

9. PhD thesis of Mr. Muhammad Jafir, Regd. No. 2010-ag-3673, PhD student in Entomology, entitled “Molecular Study for the Identification, Characterization and Management of Lepidopterious Insect Pests of Cotton in Punjab, Pakistan” will be placed for peer review in the Library Department of Entomology w.e.f. 21-09-2020 for seven days.

PhD THESIS/SYNOPSIS DEFENCE 1. PhD thesis of Miss Hina Ahmed Malik, Regd. No. 2014-ag-05, a student of the Institute of Soil and Environmental Sciences UAF

will be placed in Director’s office w.e.f. 16-09-2020 to 22-09-2020. The title of her thesis is “Assessment of phytoremediation potential of marigold (Tagetes patula L.) for chromium contaminated soil”. All academic staff/students are welcomed to read/consult and give suggestions so that thesis will be improved according with incorporation of these suggestions.

2. Ms. Sundas Aslam, Regd. No. 2009-ag-1423, a PhD student in the Department of Botany will defend her PhD thesis on 25-09-2020 at 10:00 am in the Department of Botany, UAF. As required under the rules. The title of her thesis is “Morpho-anatomical and eco-physiological studies of genus carex from the Punjab.

3. Ms. Sidra Ashiq Rana, Regd. No. 2003-ag-1971, PhD student of the Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics has successfully defended her PhD thesis on 14-09-2020. The title of her thesis is “Genetics of earliness in Gossypium hirsutum L. under different nitrogen levels”.

4. Some minor changes are made in the title of synopsis of Mr. Zafar Iqbal, Regd. No. 2001-ag-776, student of PhD Food Technology at National Institute of Food Science and Technology, UAF suggested by the supervisory committee. Existing (defended) title “Development of postharvest protocol and value addition in Jujube fruit” Proposed title “Predictive cataloging of Jujube fruits towards value addition and food security in Pakistan”.
