No. 2007-ag-493, Department of Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture, Zahid Mahmood Sarwar, Regd. No. 2006-ag-199, Department of Entomology, Faculty of Agriculture have passed the final examination for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (2015). The Vice Chancellor is pleased to sanction their admission to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. The titles of their PhD research were “Alleviation of salinity and boron stress by potassium application in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)”, “Bio-ecology and Management of Cotton Bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)”, “Systematic studies of stores grain mites from Punjab, Pakistan”. Now the number of UAF PhD club has been raised to 1215. DISCIPLINARY ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND ADVISORY COMMITTEES CONSTITUTED The Vice Chancellor in exercise of the powers vested in him under Regulation 16 of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad Students (Discipline and Conduct) Regulations, 1978, has constituted a Disciplinary Advisory Committee and Advisory Committees for the calendar year 2015. GRE (SUBJECT) TYPE TEST ON FEBRUARY 21st, 2015 The Univesity will conduct a GRE (subject) type test in all disciplines of PhD on February 21, 2015. Candidates who want to take this test need to submit a bank draft worth Rs. 1500/- in favor of Treasurer UAF or bank receipt from the NBP/HBL/MCB, University Branchs in the office of the DGS, UAF up to Feb 18, 2015. 3. Mr. Muhammad Tahir-Mohy-ud-Din, Regd. No. 2006-ag-1098, PhD student, Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery will defend his synopsis entitled “Mastitis in cows and buffaloes, (I) a Field survey of disease in Tehsil Faisalabad. (II) Therapeutic evaluation and cost benefit analysis of autogenous mastitis vaccine alone and in combination with rational therapy” on 21-02-2015 at 12:00 noon in the Museum of Faculty of Veterinary Science. 4. Ms. Aisha Khatoon Regd. No. 2003-ag-2042, PhD scholar of Department of Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Science, has successfully defended her PhD thesis research on 12-02-2015. The title of her thesis is “Amelioration of Mycotoxicosis in Chicken by Dietary Inclusion of Bentonite, Distillery Sludge and Milk Thistle”.

5. Miss Sana Fatima, Regd. No. 2011-ag-533 a PhD student, Department of Botany, UAF has successfully defended her synopsis on 22-01-2015 as required under the rules. During her synopsis defense the members of her supervisory committee have suggested changes in the synopsis title which may please be approved. 6. Mr. Muhammad Mudassar Ashaf, Regd. No. 2010-ag-74, a PhD student (Pharmacology), of the Institute of Pharmacy, Physiology and Pharmacology has successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Pharmacokinetic and Bioequivalance of Cefixime in Healthy Male and Female Volunteers” on 13-02-2015.

7. Hafiz Tassawar Abbas Regd. No. 2004-ag-1168, a PhD student of the Department of Plant Pathology, has successfully defended his PhD thesis at University level on 13-02-2015. The title of his thesis was “Physiology and integrated management of Colletotrichum falcatum causing red rot of sugarcane.
