Power of Knowledge, Power of Cultural Heritage and Power of the Youth play a central role in the development of any state. The Central theme of this year’s Annual issue of Admerit Dayz is
Gender Eqaility and women empowerment are two sides of the same coin. Over the past decade, gender equality and women empowerment have been explicitly recognized as key, not only to the health of the nation, but also to social and economic development of our country.
Education plays a pivotal role in reducing both the gender inequality as well as reducing disempowerment of women. Our country is young and to reap the advantage of “demographic dividend”, the role of educated youth is paramount. Educating the youth and empowering our female students with special initiatives like and facilitating higher education with scholarship like inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, Admerit College continues its journey in its 22nd year with success in all academic, non-academic and social front.
To capture the thoughts running in the minds of our young students, we’ve once again selected some of the articles, poems, sketching and drawings on the topic Gender Equality and Education composed by our students.
Women empowerment cannot be a topic of debate and discussion alone. Action also matters. The government is already taking great initiative in empowering the women through education at the root level. Still there is a huge gap in the implementation process. At 3% of the GDP our country spends in higher education only half of what the Kothari commission recommended in 1964. The former HRD minister Kapil Sibal admitted in 2010 that India needed 800 new universities and 40,000 new colleges to take the gross enrollment ratio from 18% to 30% by 2020.
Admerit over the last 22 years is continuously striving to remain quality conscious and train manpower who become an asset for this country. Academic Learning is not complete without collaborative learning in multi discipline. Hence, Admerit College had organized a host of tech seminars, workshops, national level quizzes, and cultural events across the year.
The global presence of ex-Admeritians continue to impact the confidence of students back home who are dreaming to scale the heights of glory. We salute all our ex-Admeritians and complement the batch of 2010-2013 who are graduating this year! My special appreciation to all students who have displayed Academic Excellence consistently and have shown merit par excellence.
The strength of any organization depends on its team members and I am proud to lead such a motivated and committed team of individuals who add merit to this organization everyday. Too often, in India, the leader takes all the glory. Honesty, the power of Admerit team is greater than any one individual leader. The least I can do is to convey my eternal gratitude to my all colleagues and students who together make each other’s lives more meaningful. Education is an eternal journey, so let us keep exploring and educating our current and future generations for making our country proud.
Stay focused and enjoy college life!!!
“Gender Equality and Women Empowerment”.

Gender Equality
Opinion of new generation on gender discrimination during ancient day's male child was called as the "vansh" of the family. The family was totally dependent on the monthly income of their son. So the family used to provide higher education to only the male child. It was rare for the female child to acquire primary education. But as the time passed the thought and opinion of people became different.
Now each and every parents and the members of house want to provide higher education to the female child beyond their capacity. Our new generation girl child's attitude also became different. She wants to make her parents proud through her career. To achieve her destination she is giving a tough competition to the male child. The tough competition between boys & girls are seen in every field of life. "Kalpana Chawla, Sania Mirza, Sonia Gandhi, Aishwarya Rai" and lots more are the successful women of our society. These daughters of our society proved themselves that by learning defense skills they need not depend on men. New generation men are also changing their negative attitude towards progressive female. They are giving respect to them, understanding and accepting their point of view.
Thus the gender gap has been becoming narrow and the time is coming when our society is free from gender discrimination.

WHY DISCRIMINATE?
Deepika Kumari
Indian women have freedomin current times
Women displayed tremendous courage, initiative & leadership in the Indian political movements for Independence. During the uprising of 1857, women came to fight for independent India. Maharani Ahilyabai Holker and the famous Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi had become iconic figure in the Indian political arena. But they could not free India from the British Rule, still they faught till their last breadth. A woman is also as powerful as a man. After this movement a lot of woman participated in many movements, example is non-violent Satyagrah Movement, Bharat Chhoro Movement, etc. Vijaylaxmi Pandit, Daughter of Motilal Nehru & Sarojini Naidu, was a distinguished poet who joined
Gender Based Equality in Education
Gender based discrimination in education is both a cause and a consequence of deep rotted disparities in society. Poverty, geographical isolation, attitudes about their status and role all undermine the ability of women and girls to exercise their rights. Harmful practices such as early marriage, gender based violence and discriminatory education laws, polices, contents and practices still prevent millions of girls from enrolling, completing and benefitting from education.
The largest gender difference, on average is observed in the chosen field of study in tertiary education. In developing countries in 2008, 78% of girls in primary school age were enrolled in primary education in comparison to boys that was 82%. Gender disparities in developing countries are often more pronounced in secondary, technical and vocational than in primary education. In South and West Asia, along with Sub Saharan Africa, girls accounted for 44% of students in secondary education in 2007, but just 27% and 39% resp. in technical and vocational education, as per UNESCO Institute for Statistics, 2010.
To uproot this gender discrimination, there should be-• Gender equality in national education laws, policies
and plans.• Expansion of learning opportunities in particular for
girls and women, in both formal and non formal education.
• Make education content gender sensitive and free from discrimination.
• Develop the opportunity of education for woman.• Stricter laws for crime against women.• Make society sensitive towards issues concerning
women.

Gender Equality
Gender difference has been made by the nature, which looks so nice and beautiful. But in the same way gender difference should only be physical and not mental.
When two people male and female starts working together that becomes gender equality. Gender equality is needed in every field. There is a well known proverb-
"Without two wheels vehicle cannot be run" And this is very true in every sense. Today male and female stand for each other, whether in politics, cinema, sports, office or anywhere. It looks nice when we see men and women working together. It breaks hesitation between male and female. We live in democratic country and we have same space for men and women. But even today we have cases of female getting less education, getting married early and not getting the same opportunity as their men counterparts.
If girls get good education they can also achieve something good in their life. They can stand together with boys and make every country proud. Gender equality is evident between our prime minister Shri Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi. They run the country together and in proper co-ordination. Gender equality is not needed only in professional life but also in personal life husband and wife should have better understanding for happy married life. Gender equality advocates equality and mutual respect between girls and boys.

many movements. They attended public lectures and challenged the British Rule.
Swami Vivekanand called women "Real lionesses" and Tagore regarded Sister Nivedita or Miss margaret Noble as "Lok-Mata". She was one of the hosts of foreign women delegation who propagated the cause of India throughout America & Europe.
After freedom, many women regiments were formed who served the country.
My sincere request to all is to respect Women. Women are the life giver. Without women, there won't be life on earth.

Role of Youth & Education SystemThe world is dynamic. It is not static. Men and women are two wheels of life. The cart cannot do without each. In older days everyone used to say:
"Abla jivan hai teri yahi kahani,
Aanchal me doodh aur aankho me pani"
This was a deplorable picture of women in those days, who did not know what the meaning of life was. She was always given to be understood that she was feeble, frail and dependant.
But now, we have travelled a lot & have entered the
21st century & in every era there was a different role for women & it will be pertinent to mention here that she had played it in a very efficient & effective manner & has set an example for others in a changing world without any external help. She has grown up with more power, wit & talent.
Men and women are indispensable to each other to some extent, but indeed the fact is that men are more dependent on feminine values. The current status of women in India is alarming for all of us. The time has arrived to raise our voices against this. World without women is just like a flower without fragrance.
To reduce this inequality youths will have to play a key role by joining hands together to fight against this evil. Young guns of India have the guts & buts to wallop it. Future of India lies in the fresh hands of the youth who have the courage to assault the giant devils which is biting its claws deeper in our society. Young brigade are capable of changing the mindset of people & promoting gender equality in society. They should tighten their belts & try to cure this disease with love, fear or tear.
The women of today is free, literate, eloquent & self-dependent. Women of today is first & parallel to men in each & every field whether it is climbing on Mount Everest by Bachendri Pal or space traveler Kalpana Chawla etc. No fields are unaccustomed & untreaded by women, that too without any extra help or pride.
If we are really interested in her welfare we will have to start with the root cause of the problem of their backward strata. Several steps are there to uplift the condition like proper education, equality in society, equal opportunity etc. Even the Constitution of India does not allow discriminatory treatment for this segment of population which has suffered centuries of negligence & exploitation.
Girls' education is like sowing the seed which gives rise to green, cheerful & full grown family plant. The educated girl can shoulder any kind of responsibility. Education for a girl child means making better the family, society & country as a whole.
"One could judge the degree of civilization of a country by the social & political position of its women".
This is true that women have to face a lot of difficulties in over coming, with flying colors but I firmly believe that women are capable enough to sort out any obstacle by applying their utmost decision, dedication & devotion.
