ENOUGH EVIDENCE?
To the beleaguered Christians who were told to expect a new
wave of persecution, Peter wrote: “...Rejoice to the extent that you
partake of Christ’s sufferings...” (I Peter 4:13a). One of the points of
commonality among early Christians is that they did that very thing ...
they rejoiced when they suffered for the cause of Christ.
But what are we to conclude if we never suffer for Christ and His
cause? If you’re going month after month and year after year and
there are no negative repercussions that ever come upon you
because of your faith, then maybe your faith has not been clearly
demonstrated.
That may be because you’re a secret agent Christian or a
Spiritual CIA member. You are a covert operative because there have
been no negative repercussions for your faith.
To put it another way ... if you were accused of being a Christian
- would there be enough evidence to convict you? Just asking...

Dear University Church Family, Thank you so much for the calls, cards, encouragement and especially your prayers for our family. Daddy’s illness, in addition to being separated from him for weeks, has been so painful for our family. We’ve been so comforted knowing that our brothers and sisters in Christ are praying for us. God bless you for your love and compassion. Love Jody Vickery and Mary Jo Hoffman.
