The objective of this Conclave is to bring all the relevant stakeholders and key players on same platform to evolve a pragmatic roadmap for energy security and energy need in the country. India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. The Development Objectives focus on economic growth, equity and human well being. Energy is a critical input for socio-economic development. The energy strategy of India aims at efficiency and security and to provide access that is environment friendly and achieve an optimum mix of primary resources for energy generation. Conventional or fossil fuel resources are limited, non- renewable, polluting and, therefore, need to be used prudently. However, renewable energy resources are indigenous, non-polluting and virtually inexhaustible. India is endowed with abundant renewable energy resources in the form of various bio-mass/waste. What is considered as waste today can be transformed into energy in the near future! Every bit of biomass can be used to produce bio-gas and bio-manure. This will go a long way in making India energy self-reliant, help combat global warming and mitigate climate change. With the National Bio fuel Policy and SATAT scheme, India is taking rapid strides to promote biofuels, ensuring a cleaner tomorrow. A large number of delegates from Industry, senior officials from Central and State Governments, Technology providers, Policy Makers, Thought Leaders, Financial Institutions, etc are expected to attend the subject Conclave. I feel honored in inviting you to join the Conclave or nominate senior officials from your organization to attend the same. Your presence and inputs will greatly enrich the deliberations.
