STC Reference Guide

Standard Glazing:

Milgard’s standard Vinyl, Aluminum and Fiberglass windows were engineered with sound control in mind.Standard dual pane-windows range from STC 28-29.

Moderate Acoustical Glazing:

By adding heavier glass, and differing glass thicknesses, a higher reduction in sound is achieved. STC 30-36

High Acoustical Glazing:

A typical double glazed window provides an STC rating of 28-32. Milgard’s Quiet Line™ Vinyl Series windowscan provide a rating of up to 48
