How to improve the distribution? Some ideas:

• We can send an email (with a sample mailer) with information about the newsletter to the staff of our NREN, our affiliated institutions and other professional contacts (as suppliers or PR agencies), to convince them to subscribe to it. [Carrie has sent the email ‘PeaR Promotion’ about this topic]

•NRENs can write an article in their own newsletter which advertises PeaR and how to sign up

design•To include a pdf with information about the new design of the newsletter in the PeaR Community News microsite

•To make sign up on TERENA website more prominent

How to improve the content of PeaR?

•Technical information is important. We think it could be good to include specific information about international and national projects. It´s also important to post information about national events of the NRENs.

•It´s good to include in "upcoming community events" information about the Call for Papers to participate as speaker in events.

•We think it could be good in the future, to have the same login and password for all the services of TERENA

•Some people think it´s better not to publish information in the PeaR if their english is not good (because they don´t have budget for translator). Carrie told us Laura and she can review these texts.

•To publish information about career opportunities in the NRENs. Some people think it´s not a good idea because people of a NREN can leave the job to work in other NREN. What do you think about it?

How to improve the functionality? Some ideas:

• To add photos to non-TERENA stories (currently only logos) and ability to add different logos (for example, product logo like eduroam)

• To put links from items take you directly to the original NREN article / website

•Calendar on Upcoming Community Events to include events in differents time period (currently shows events one month away only). [This is solved].

• To change “Upcoming events…” to “register now for….” or “still time to register….” To add date of registration deadline.

• To send an online survey to users either via the same list or in PeaR itself (when we have more subscribers)

•Add ‘Job opportunities’ section to website and PeaR•We should change the name now aiming for new users to something more meaningful
