Born and raised in Boston, Lee worked as a secretary. After marrying her husband Morris in 1950, they moved to Manchester, where they opened a toy and juvenile furniture store “Toy City.” Lee worked as a cashier in one of the 6 store locations. She enjoyed raising her family, Steven and Arlene, being supportive through college, weddings and the birth of her grandson. After more than 20 years in business, her husband retired, leaving Steven “Toy City,” and he stills owns one location in Keene. Lee has enjoyed a lifetime of strategy games such as Team Bowling and Mahjong. She plays Jeopardy, Bingo and Hangman. She loves exercising, musical shows and socializing on the porch. Labor Day Labor Day, observed on the first Monday in September, became a federal holiday in 1894. The day recognizes the contributions and achievements of American workers. Labor Day also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, who celebrate with picnics and parties.
