Pre- taskThe teacher asks the students the following anticipation questions :-Is beauty only about appearance?-Do you try to see the characteristics of the people when you judge them as good or bad?The students are asked to watch the Machinima “Beauty and Beast” .The teacher asks the students the following comprehension questions: -Why did the Prince turn into a beast?-Why do you think Belle went to the castle?-Why did Belle promise to stay with the Beast forever in the castle?Before the first listening, the students are asked inference questions : -What is the reason behind the fact that Belle changes her behaviour towards Beast?-Do you think that Gaston cares about Belle’s ideas?

Task CycleTask Planning Report

The teacher asks students to be group of 5. Then they will create characters according to randomly given role cards. These role cards include some descriptions about characters’ physical appearance and identity like “your model has blonde hair and blue eyes but she is sneaky and arrogant.”Beforehand, the teacher gives them some pictures to remind them necessary items.

Information charts are given to students which involve instructions about how to describe their characters’ appearance and identity. Each student has his/her own role in the group. When some of them are asked to cut the hair of the character which they decide together, some of them choose the clothes of the model.

Each group comes up with the completed model of their characters. The rest of the class are asked to make a prediction about the identity of the model according to the physical appearance.

Language FocusAnalysis Practice

The teacher writes necessary sentences on the board, highlight the language to address. To make them practice and use the language in context.

The teacher makes the students group of three. One group, which consists of three students, will play a game against another one. They will play the game called “Guess Who?” Beforehand the teacher gives the students an information grid which includes three parts facial features, accessorizes and characteristics of the body. Also this grid includes necessary structures which might they use while asking questions. Additionally each student will be able to ask only one question.
