All MONGE VETSOLUTION diets are based on a main concept that aims to ensure optimal immune system function and assist in promoting maximum digestive health in suffering pets. Animals suffering from health disorders or disease are often on medicated regimes and their immune system can become more vulnerable. The impact on the digestive microflora can be considerable and harmful, delaying remission, or accelerating the progression of the disorders. Optimal functionality of the gastro intestinal tract is crucial for the animal’s health and wellbeing.

All MONGE VETSOLUTION diets are formulated to be grain and gluten free, added in free-nucleotides to enforce immune system, along with a new generation of prebiotics (Xylo-oligosaccharides).

MONGE VETSOLUTION wet line combines these three innovative concepts: Grain free, free-nucleotides (DNA yeast extract) and XOS (Xylo-oligosaccharides) with the advanced technology of the Fit-aroma®.

MONGE VETSOLUTION products contain different type of phytonutraceuticals, carried by a sensorial aromatic lipids, supplying taste and healthy benefits simultaneously, which are the basis of every product in the line, fundamental to ensure the maximum efficacy of any diet. These key foundation components help promote maximum efficiency for each diet specific concept. Taking into account the fact that dogs and cats are linked chronic inflammation on recovery, the first objective must be to ensure a strong immune system of the pet.

Grain & Gluten Free All MONGE VETSOLUTION products are grain and gluten free to limit risks of intestinal stress (food allergy, food intolerance, mycotoxins etc.). The grain free approach helps to limit the digestive workload, optimis-ing the specific concept of each therapeutic diet. Classical starch sources are replaced by high digestible tapioca, potato and green peas.

NucleotidesDietary nucleotides are essential to immune competence, intestinal development, and recovery in pets. Free-nucleotides, obtained from yeast extracts, serve a marked role in rapidly proliferating cells where they are necessary for gradual healing. Dietary nucleotides are deemed essential in the presence of vari-ous systemic stress, including recovery from injury, infection, and trauma.Scientific substantiation of nucleotide supplementation in animals has been reported to improve the maturation and development of the intestinal tract as well as immune function.

X.O.S. PrebioticsXylo-oligosaccharides (XOS) are nondigestible carbohydrates that withstand digestion and reach the colon where they stimulate growth and activity of beneficial microbial species. The microbiota of the large intestine plays a fundamental role in maintaining and recovering the state of health of the gastrointestinal tract. XOS can give a beneficial complementary reaction for systemic mechanisms such as inflammation, oxidative stress, appetite regulation, etc.

®Fit-aromaThe excellent palatability in therapeutic diets is the key to their successful pet feeding. Our aim is to use aromas and extracts that not only provide good palatability, but also additional health benefits.MONGE VETSOLUTION products contain a Fit-aroma®, a functional phytonutraceutical carried by a sensorial additive, supplying taste and health benefits simultaneously. Previously this delivery system was available only to the pharmaceutical industry, now this technology of delivering active ingredients to targeted areas of the body through an aroma, is an ideal solution combining taste and health in pet food production.Fit-aroma® in MONGE VETSOLUTION diets are designed for high biological performance at low dos-age, by progressive and continuous release. The bioavailability of the phytonutraceuticals is protected throughout processing and during digestion by an exclusive coating technique. As a result, product palatability is maximised, and the phytonutraceuticals can be progressively absorbed through the in-testine, reaching the bloodstream where they are most active. The unique combination of aromatic lipids and the bioactive phyto-ingredient ensures a release at intestinal level triggering local absorption and general action. To ensure the full compliance of the MONGE VETSOLUTION range, the aroma fingerprint is guaranteed from batch to batch.

Fit-aroma® in MONGE VETSOLUTION CANINE DERMATOSIS contains Aloe vera, with a minimum concentration of 95% mannanoligosaccharides. Mannans are ingested, not digested, and appear in the bloodstream in exactly the same form. The high polysaccharide content of Aloe vera limits inflammation, enhances immunity and reduces body fat accumulation by the stimulation of energy expenditure. Aloe vera extract is scientifically proven to regenerate skin collagen and optimises skin elasticity, hence Aloe vera accelerates healing of micro-lesions and ensures dermal firmness. The free radical scavenger activity of Aloe vera could be helpful in countering increased oxidative stress observed in atop-ic animals. Some of the polysaccharides from Aloe vera are not absorbed but stick to the cells lining the gut. These help ensure a barrier by strengthening cell junctions, preventing the inflammatory induced “leaky” gut syndrome (or increased intestinal permeability), implicated in the mechanism of food allergy.

PROTEINS: MONGE VETSOLUTION DERMATOSIS is composed by unique animal protein source. Pork is an alternative animal protein, which limits intestinal allergic reactions. Pork meat contains high amount of digestible proteins, elevated myoglobin concentration and serve as important essential AA sources. Pork liver is also source for several minerals (e.g., iron and selenium) and vitamins (e.g., Vitamin A, B12 and B11).FATS: Purified salmon oil is a highly digestible source of essential fatty acids (EFAs) and is loaded with the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA. EFAs most strongly linked to the health benefits of animal skin and coat. The important role of DHA and EPA in immune system diseases like allergies and inflammatory skin disorders, is due to their ability to normalize inflammatory response. Dogs receiving the DHA and EPA had significant improvements in pruritis, self-trauma, and coat character over time.MINERALS: MONGE VETSOLUTION DERMATOSIS supports nutrition-ally the health of natural skin barrier through synergic action of miner-als and vitamins complex. Fit-aroma® in MONGE VETSOLUTION CANINE GASTROINTE-STINAL contains a natural extract of horse chestnut that has been shown to exert an antispasmodic action induced by modulation of cholinergic receptors and calcium channels at intestinal level. The Fit-aroma® of MONGE VETSOLUTION CANINE GASTROINTES-TINAL has astringent properties that slow intestinal peristalsis and improves the action of digestive enzymes. The beneficial effects of horse chestnut are attributed to its principal component: Escin. Escin ameliorates intestinal mucosal injury and increases the expression of tight junction proteins, suggesting that horse chestnut extract effec-tively inhibits acute inflammation.

Fit-aroma® in MONGE VETSOLUTION CANINE RENAL AND OXALA-TE contains green tea polyphenols (epigallocatechin gallate - EGCG, catechins), which demonstrate strong antioxidative and anti-inflammato-ry properties. EGCG can obliterate nephrotoxicity, by suppressing leucocy-tosis, systemic inflammation, oxidative stress, and their sequelae. EGCG significantly improves renal hypertension and promotes tissue regenera-tion. The catechins relieve the oxidative stress from free radicals and de-crease cell injury in the renal epithelial cell line by limiting the production of oxidative uremic toxins and NO (nitric oxide). Simultaneously, the goal of prevention of oxalate uroliths is to lower the amount of calcium oxalate by decreasing the urinary levels of calcium and oxalate and increasing the urine volume in order to dilute the minerals and to induce a neutral to alka-line urine pH. Since antioxidant therapy prevents calcium oxalate precipi-tation in the kidney and reduces oxalate excretion in animals predisposed to stone formation, calcium oxalate crystal deposition to the urothelium is prevented by free radical scavengers protecting the membrane from free radical mediated damage. Green tea polyphenols help stimulate the glomerular filtration rate and contribute to increase the urinary volume, thus diluting mineral concentration and the risk of crystal formation. Green tea supplementation decreases the excretion of urinary oxalate and limits the activities of γ-glutamyltranspeptidase and N acetylglucosaminidase, both harmful for the urinary glycosaminoglycan layer protecting the uri-nary bladder epithelium. The polyphenols are coated to limit gastric and intestinal bacterial degeneration, optimizing nutrient efficiency.

Fit-aroma® in MONGE VETSOLUTION FELINE DERMATOSIS contains Aloe vera. Aloe vera extract is scientifically proven to re-generate skin collagen and to ease skin elasticity and dermal firm-ness. Aloe vera stimulates the healing of micro-lesions by promoting the leukocyte-endothelium interaction and the modulation of inter-leukin levels. It increases the collagen content of granulation tissue, as well as its degree of cross-linking, by enhancing type III collagen synthesis, thus improving skin elasticity.MONGE VETSOLUTION FELINE DERMATOSIS contains Aloe vera, with a minimum concentration of 95% mannanoligosaccharides. Man-nans are ingested, not digested, and appear in the bloodstream in exactly the same form. Some of the polysaccharides from the Aloe vera are not absorbed but stick to the cells lining the gut. Fit-aroma® in MONGE VETSOLUTION FELINE RENAL AND OXALA-TE contains green tea polyphenols (epigallocatechin gallate - EGCG, catechins), which demonstrate strong antioxidative and anti-inflamma-tory properties. EGCG can obliterate nephrotoxicity, by suppressing leu-cocytosis, systemic inflammation, oxidative stress, and their sequelae. EGCG significantly improves renal hypertension and promotes tissue regeneration. The catechins relieve the oxidative stress from free radicals and decrease cell injury in the renal epithelial cell line by limiting the pro-duction of oxidative uremic toxins and NO (nitric oxide). Simultaneously, the goal of prevention of oxalate uroliths is to lower the amount of calci-um oxalate by decreasing the urinary levels of calcium and oxalate and increasing the urine volume in order to dilute the minerals and inducing a neutral to alkaline urine pH. The antioxidant action of green tea in the urothelium prevents calcium oxalate precipitation in the kidney and re-duces oxalate excretion in animals predisposed. Green tea polyphenols help stimulate the glomerular filtration rate and contribute to increase the urinary volume, thus diluting mineral concentration and the risk of crystal formation. Green tea supplementation furthermore limits the activities of γ-glutamyltranspeptidase and N-acetylglucosaminidase, both harmful for the urinary glycosaminoglycan layer protecting the urinary bladder epithe-lium. The polyphenols are coated to limit gastric and intestinal bacterial degeneration, optimizing nutrient efficiency.

Fit-aroma® in MONGE VETSOLUTION FELINE URINARY STRU-VITE contains cranberry extract. Although sterile struvite is the most common type of struvite structure occurring in adult cats, nearly one-third (28.6%) of the cats diagnosed with urolithiasis have signif-icant bacteriuria (UTI). Escherichia coli is the most common bacteria found, accounting for one-half to two-thirds of infections. Struvite uro-liths may be dissolved by inducing an acidic urine pH, increasing urine volume and feeding a diet restricted in magnesium and phosphorus, however urinary acidifiers do not prevent bacterial UTI. The Fit-aroma® in MONGE VETSOLUTION FELINE URINARY STRUVITE contains cran-berry extract, which is rich in proanthocyanidins (PACs). PACs with their unique molecular structures, bind to adhesins (virulent factors involved in the sticking of the bacteria to uroepithelial cells). They act through the inhibition of the different types of adhesins (MR and MS adhesins) on hair-like fimbriae, that protrude from the bacterial surface. One is fructose, inhibiting the MS fimbrial adhesins; the other one is a high-molecular-weight inhibitor, which neutralises MR adhesins, pre-venting colonisation of the bladder. The oligomeric proanthocyanidins may prevent struvite mediated peroxidative injury, restoring intracellular antioxidant enzyme activity.

PROTEINS: Reduced in proteins (34%DM) to limit urinary excretion of ammonia and ammonium, which tend to combine with magnesium and phosphate to form struvite crystals and uroliths. FATTY ACIDS: Struvite urolithiasis is usually associated with lower urinary tract inflammation. MONGE VETSOLUTION URINARY STRUVITE has been enriched with long-chain n-3 fatty acids (EPA+ DHA), con-tained in salmon oil, to limit the production of inflammatory mediators.MINERALS: Limited magnesium and phosphorus content to reduce urinary concentration, which increase the risk of struvite precipitates and uroliths. Increased in sodium chloride to stimulate the water in-take and urinary dilution. URINARY pH: Dietary management of urinary pH plays a critical role in cat with struvite uroliths, which are highly soluble in acidic urine. MON-GE VETSOLUTION URINARY STRUVITE has been formulated to induce a urinary pH of 6.2.

ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS: Salmon oil provides a potent and high-ly digestible source of essential fatty acids omega-3 DHA and EPA, supporting cardiovascular and neurological wellness. Researches with omega-3 has demonstrated their ability to help keep the heart and blood vessels, including those that supply the brain, healthy and functioning optimally. In some studies, fish oil has slowed the growth of cancer, increasing lipid peroxidation, because cancer cells are less able than normal cells to inactivate oxygen radicals and to survive this altered cell response. DENSE ENERGY: High energy density, utilizing high fat and protein levels, reduces the total feeding volumes. Elevated amount of highly digestible proteins (>42% DM) stimulate the appetite of recovering cats and help to maintain muscle mass. Low carbohydrates (
